OK, I will give this f*cking sh*t one last try before I give up …
this is actually for Deino, our J-10 fetish guy …

RD-93 still “smoking”. 🙂
I think it’s smoky because it is still an RD-33…
Here is a better one …
you can see the pilot sits much higher in the rear cockpit than any earlier Chinese fighters
Zhuhai Airshow is practically a “model show” with no real Chinese-made military aircraft on display. The latest news suggested that FT-2000 will not attend the show. The airshow is becoming one of the biggest jokes in 2004.
Nice scoop Mr. HT! 😎
PS: Oh, is this real or PS (Spceially the CCTV logo an all)??
Yes, it is real.

If PLAAF buys more J-10s than Su’s this could bear out. Otherwise, we can put this down as another internet rumor.
According to Kanwa and other rumors (such as new production line being set up) that J-10 is in full-scale production. So CAC should be able to deliver 50 to PAF if they can afford them.
This is somewhat related to FC-1 and very interesting. The latest rumor from Chinese web site claimed that during a series of mock air combat between J-10 and Su-30MKK held at PLAAF Flight Test and Training Center, J-10 beat Su-30MKK in all major aspects. CAC was very excited about this. PAF also got excited after they heard about this (thinking of Su-30MKI of course) and decided to buy J-10. This time the request was apporved by the Chinese (it was rejected previously perhaps). The export version will be called FC-2 and 50 or so is expected to be delivered to PAF starting from 2007. FC-2 may have a Chinese engine, i.e. WS-10A to avoid AL-31FN export license headache.
BTW, the F-7MF project was rumored to have been axed.
at least the photo confirms J-10 has 11 hardpoints and PLAAF intends to use it for CAS role
I don’t get it. How reliable this source is??
For those who don’t have this pic.
I thought it was PSed. If you look at the #02 photo and compare the “2” digit and you will see the difference …
I honestly can’t find any thing that appears to serve as illuminators on this ship. The SAMs are active radar guided perhaps.
HHQ-9 is active radar homing, of course.
They seem to be pounding out subs as fast as McDonald’s rolling out Big Macs. This should mean another plus one on the Song sub list soon.
Make no mistake about it, we are witnessing PRC and Taiwan in a heated arms race! The winner and loser will be determined within the next 10 years or so when one side’s national resources are finally exhausted ….
