😮
Latest PLAN word:
Two 093’s and one 094 is said to already been
commissioned. This info said to be from back in days of ’99 therefore current
numbers is speculated to have increased since.😮
No, the article only suggested they were being constructed at that time.
[QUOTE=Hyperwarp]Hmmm……Looking at this pic, I think Mr. HSH is sick Kanwa stealing his photos, hence the big coloured HSH.
No, he was trying to hide the sensitive VLS position
forget about F-7MF, it’s not going to be built
well, I did quote that story from Jane’s, not the other way around!
Jane’s is still the source of evil …. 🙂
What official sources have shown Iraq recieving the J-8? Nothing I have ever seen has even attempted to make such a claim.
Forget about Iraqi J-8s, J-8 was never exported to any foreign country and never will be.
No surprise here.
Good thing for AGAT to come out and clear the air out.
I remember it was Jane’s who first came up with this AGAT seeker story …. another blow to Jane’s reputation
Looking for PAF FT-7PG photos, anybody saw one yet?
yeah, looks like a Mirage III to me …
The newspaper mentioned the first operational service of a “new domestic fighter”. There is a small possibility that it might be J-7G. Most people at DS BBS agree it was referring to J-10. I will try to get more confirmation on this.
The PLAAF newspaper never says things in specific language. “New fighter” (in Babelfish) or the may mean J-11 or Su-27 or Su-30MKK while “new type of domestic fighter” can literally mean anything from J-7Gs to J-8Fs to J-10s. For all you know the 44th may only be getting J-7Gs. You know it may be a closed door display—for what reason I don’t know. The J-10 may have been flown in or the Su-30 flown somewhere else.
But it is a good clue. 3rd Division has been the first of everything, the J-7s, Su-27s and Su-30MKKs.
The first operatinal J-10 unit should be the 44th Division in Yunnan province (at least 5 so far for 11 pilots). This has been confirmed by the PLAAF newspaper. That close-door display may have nothing to do with where the aircraft came from.
I just realized that the MKK would give a clue as to where this J-10 is located. I wondered why I didn’t think of it sooner.
Being the first in everything new, it’s logical that the first operational J-10 group may be with the 3rd Division also.
Now I just wonder how much of the MKK’s munition hardware can work with the J-10 too.
sounds like crap to me … photos have shown the new sub has a “+” tail instead of “x” tail
as opposed to the navy forum 🙂
According to a Chinese board posting.
on May 4, 2004; the lead boat of a new SSK class was launched at the Wuhan shipyard. It is called Type 054 (the new stealth FFG is also numbered 054.)
It is an advancement of the 039 but very different.
Main features of the 054:
1) Instead of the orthrodox T (or cruciform) tail, it used an “X” form tail and rudder ensemble.
2) AIP system (up to 70 days in succession without surfacing)
3) jet pumps propulsion (!)
4) new noise reduction techniques
5) new “Purple Gold” fire control
6) it will be armed with a SAM!
Sounds like science fiction and so it is filed under speculation.
yeah, a J-10 on the far left … probably a close display at the Flight Test & Training Center
that Tu-154 should be the Tu-154M/D SAR aircraft similar to E-8
Neat pic. Looks like the numbers were PS’ed off under the canopy and the tail rudder.
it appears to me that even the rear half of the canopy was also PSed … 🙂
i.e. the original single seater was first PSed to a two seater then PSed back …
hmm, you guys may be right …. 😀
Huitong, you think the WZ-10 article is completely unreliable? Not a single kernel of truth at all concerning the 1st flight date, damaged 1st prototype, 6 prototypes and the dimensions?
this is the latest version evolving from earlier versions of the same article which first appeared in 1999/2000, written by will young if my memory is correct …. of course there is some truth in it, but that’s something we already knew
