Once again I’m blown away by the never ending work carried out at MAM. What a fantastic setup! I wish I was a lot nearer, you’d never get me away from the place!

Major kudos to the guys at MAM – long may you continue!

    Oooh yes please! roy(at)jetstream-club.org

You can never have too much info in my opinion!

Jon: there’s a few more on airliners.net too.

For anyone listening who might be interested, the front fuse of G-ANCF will be re-attached to the centre section and wing (we pray!) on the 20th of this month. Serious progress!

Anyone who hasn’t donated to the project should do so now at the web-site before 10:15 tomorrow or we’re sending the boys round.

Feelings seem to run quite high on this subject and we don’t our esteemed moderator coming after us with that pointy stick….

I *really* want to see the benefits, please?

Why, that’s our boootiful Bristol Britannia, G-ANCF , recently moved from Kemble to Speke and about to be restored to stunning static display.

If you’d like to stop by, with overalls and a paint brush….

I liked it that somebody actually asked if the young lady was included in the auction:D

    There was an auction!?

Actually I think one of those pictures is something of an optical illusion… if you stare at it long enough, you can see an airplane!

There’s a good chance I can help out, but I need to know the types you want!

I’ll know a week tomorrow once the engineer has told us his cunning plan for putting the aircraft back together. At least I hope it’s a cunning plan!

We might need one or two rivets if you’ve got em!

    *BUMP*

I can’t believe that nobody on this forum is interested in these!

Had they been 1950’s issues I’d have jumped on them.

Sadly, it looks like these will be heading to the USA unless there’s some British interest.

Looking at the wing centre section – why is the roof section of the fuselage missing in this area? Has that made it easier to dismantle, or? Just interested….!

The roof section is there, just not attached! It was an odd construction order with the Brit, wing->centre-root->front fuse->rear fuse. which is, I’m told, the order in which we’ll re-assemble here.

If you are looking for a source of quality paint stripper – that works, I can put you in touch with an excellent supplier. The stuff is completely biodegradable, takes all the paint off in one go, and much safer to use than the usual suspects.

Thanks Bruce – all info is very welcome. Can you PM me the details?

    Thanks,

    Roy.

Just a bit of work needed! 😉

Jon knows this because the silly fool signed his life away to the JSC and worked his socks off on Sunday getting the old paint off the tailplane.

Nice one Jon! Next time we’ll have to organise a _proper_ break for lunch.

We’ve had a lot of calls (and visits) from ex-Eagle guys who are absolutely delighted to see the old girl back at Speke. One chap has already donated a bunch of windy tools and boxes of rivets to the project. “You’ll need em more than I will!” he said.

    More pics soon.

    Roy.

Wonderful news Lee, thanks for keeping us all informed!

Once again, I’ve got to say – the RNHF web site has to be one of the smartest around, Bravo fella!

I think they made an excellent choice with the Britannia – no need to even think of alternatives!

    Hi Roy
It would be great to meet up with you at last, will you be at Cockpitfest this year? Max has his first cockpit project to show, a Beagle Pup-100 that he picked up, badly crushed from nosing over in a forced landing. We must get up to Liverpool one of these days also.
    All the best.

Yup, Newark is in my diary for this year 🙂

Liverpool will be worth a visit, as I type this, the Britannia is literally on it’s way up from Kemble.

Tomorrow will be a scary large/heavy load + crane day.

    Roy.
