I meant – “This aircraft?” and not “This DC-4?”
This pic was taken ooh… circa 1950 ?
Hi
When I was at Liverpool (Speke) Airport…. ….and this area was then a fire practice site with an old DC 6 or 4 of Starways Airline.:) 🙂
This one?

As we’ve come to expect from the chaps at MAM – a bloody wonderful job 🙂
The easiest way is to get the spineless twats in downing street to repeal the human rights law, that way when any of these ******s are caught we can legaly kick the **** out of them – oh i’m so sorry, thats not very pc is it, political correctness can **** off as well.
BRAVO !!
Biggles insatiable taste for curried beans made him unpopular with the rest of the crew…
Bring back the stocks.
With dreams of a sea hawk cockpit in the garage, I took a tried and tested idea from my pal Gene (he with the F-15 cockpit http://www.f15sim.com) and persuaded swmbo* that I _could_ be in the pub or sprawled in the front of the TV watching football with a 6-pack of beer, OR I could be just a shout away in the garage working on the cockpit. She opted for the cockpit 🙂
Don’t ask me what I did to earn so many hours working on the J41 and the Grumman 😉
*swmbo… She Who Must Be Obeyed.

One of the good things I find about Airfix is that it is ideal if your kids are interested or you are trying to interest them. The new Revell and Japanese kits may be great if you want to build a detailed kit, a hundred fiddly bits is useless for 8 year old. The old Arifix kits however are ideal. And ,I know what to expect because I’ve built most of them in the past myself!
Not too long ago I stumbled across the old Westland Scout kit. I built loads of these as a kid and couldn’t resist. It surprised me that it was a lot harder to put together than I remember.
That got me the bug back and I’ve built quite a few models over the last few years. Sadly, with nowhere to put them now – it’s a hobby I’ll no doubt return to in my golden years.
All items are indeed safe to the best of my knowledge.

I really don’t understand why we cannot adopt the system used widely in the USA (among other places) , whereby you sign a form to confirm that you accept that the aircraft is not certified as a public transport aircraft , that the flight you are taking is at your own risk and that nobody will get sued if anything goes wrong.
Because we live in an over regulated nanny state. The big issue for me is that we have had our freedom of choice taken away. We are no longer allowed to evaluate risks for ourselves.

Surely this isn’t worth anything like 14k ?? I know it’s a lightning and we all love them but… no… surely this is a ‘get rich quick’ price?
I wish I had enough spare beer vouchers to take it on though !
Screw the law – I’d be more than happy to have been given a document producer for a Meteor 🙂
Talking to a good friend of mine this morning who spent quite a few years working for Airwork and he wasn’t at all surprised that there might be a lack of info given that a lot of the stuff Airwork did was ‘classified’. He recalls having to sign all manner of NDA type stuff along the lines of the official secrets act, especially before his stint in Oman.
