You guys can discuss the pros and cons all day if you like… I’m just going to sit here with my coffee and think about how amazingly wonderful it will be to see a Vulcan in the skies again. I never dreamed I would ever see another one, and now there’s a very good chance that I will – I feel like a kid at christmas !
Roy.
will she stay in UK ??
Of course she will.
Yup 🙁
Anyway…………all pie in the sky as I don’t even see the CAA saying yes.
Thats the spirit !
Roy.
there was a program on sky the other evening about the audio gear used by the US military in the Gulf to blast propaganda, sounds of artillery and heavy metal music to **** off the iraqi’s. They’ve a new system now which as well as being horribly powerful is extremely directional – you can stand alongside it and not hear a thing, stand in front of it and wish you were dead.
If they’d listened to me and played country music… not a shot would have been fired.
Roy.
That looks really nice. Please do keep us posted as it progresses.
Roy.
….and the trailer’s still got wheels on it! 😮
oh dear, that line is almost as old as I am. Although I’m not liverpool born and hold no particular affiliation with the place, I must confess that the people up here are really very friendly and ‘losing your wheels’ is far less of a problem here than in many other places I could mention.
Roy.
Ouch !!
She looks fantastic Roy, again, such a shame you have to get rid. Are you from Liverpool Roy?
Yup, I’m based in Liverpool.
Thanks Peter – I must admit I’m absolutely gutted. I was determined to see her at at least one cockpitfest.
There’s still a box of goodies I’ve not fitted yet which would probably make her the most complete sea hawk cockpit there is.
Roy.
Absolutely outstanding. I can’t wait to see this lot first hand 🙂

There has been considerable critiscm of the BAPC on this forum.
And you are usually there to defend them, Roger! :p
The BAPC understandably takes some flak, although from friends within the BAPC I hear that things are changing, albeit far too slowly.
The BAPC to many (me included) is considered a waste if for no other reason than they don’t exactly do a particularly good job in their publicity department. I don’t think their web site has changed since I first saw it a few years back. Old news is often worse than no news. These days the web is a crucial point of contact for an organisation such as this and they need to be using it to tell us what they are doing.
And still no way for individuals to sign up other than by invitation? The BAPC are losing a lot (imho) by not embracing the many many people out there who are full of passion and enthusiasm for our aviation heritage. We need an organisation such as the BAPC to co-ordinate and act as a voice but it needs to act for all of us.
Personally, I think the Key Publishing forum is a fine example of how individuals can make a difference (most recently with Mr Rusty, the Shack) and the BAPC could, no SHOULD, learn from this.
I will however, mention the current workshops the BAPC are running. I understand ‘from within’ that these are extremely useful and I applaud that.
Roy.
Great photo’s – thanks for sharing them.
I’d love to see a few airworthy Scouts or Wasps. We had loads of them didn’t we? Surely it can’t be _that_ hard. 🙁
Roy.
I live at Moggy’s house – and look a lot like him too! 😉
A quick aside… one of our security types had a run-in with a bolshy student here. Now being a security type dude he’s a big ******. Kept his cool despite much provocation. He just went nose to nose and said very calmly… “I hope you’re in BUPA son….”
Dispute resolved.
Roy.
That’s a really , REALLY nice collection – thanks for sharing.
