A fantastic painting – I’d love a copy of that to replace the TV! 🙂

does anyone know where on the internet you can find a video with sound, of the BBMF Dakota, Spitfire, and Hurricane in formation ?

Even better – come along to the Liverpool Aviation Fair at the old Speke Aerodrome on June 29th and you can hear/see them live 😀

Thanks Mike, I’ll certainly chase after that.

The only UK canopy I’ve found so far is priced at 500 quid plus taxes and transport – giving an approximate total of £ OUCH

Hi, a popular scanner is the PSR282 which is available from Maplin (there’s one on the Mancunian way?) I bought one of these a few years back and it works well for me. I think most military stuff is now UHF and I’m told that some may be encrypted too so can’t help there.

Errr.. I’ve not seen that down at the GA park or in Keenair’s hangar. It must be with either Ravenair or I need glasses!

I’ll have a poke around next time I get the chance. I’m trying hard to remember what aircraft George was flying last time I saw him.

Jeez word travels fast!! We only just found out we’d got ’em !!

This is a big year/event for us since it’s the 75th birthday for Liverpool Airport. Should be lots to see and do – keep an eye on the web-site for updates which will be there soon.

Do come along Eddy – say Hello, see the Brit (bring overalls 😉

I’m still waiting for it !

A new canopy is only $300 US but I guess it’ll be about the same again for the shipping.

Guess I’ll phone them tomorrow… make sure I’ve got a chair by the phone :diablo:

    Thanks for that (Mike?)

I do recall stories of the rapide replica when being craned in ‘flying’ to such an extent that the weight indicator in the crane cab reduced by 50% !

Your worries reflect my own, hence my posting on the forum.

Thanks James – I know lift spoilers are more common out there in the territories but I’d love to know more about them. I’ll give the guys at MM a shout and see what comes back.

Have you thought of offering its fuel tanks as a depository for waste oil from local motorists and businesses?

It would build up the weight and keep them safe from rusting. Might take a few years to fill them, but it ain’t going anywhere.

    Moggy

I don’t think I’d want countless gallons of other peoples waste in any aircraft!

I have heard though that it is wise to load the wing tanks to reduce flexing of the wing root. Can anyone else shed light on this?

Thanks to all for the comments so far, I’ve learned a lot.

    Roy.
