It could also be the case that perhaps they may be respecting the new owners wishes at this time.
Just a quick reminder about the Shuttleworth collection’s open workshop day being held on December 30th.
A small update to the Shuttleworth Collection’s open workshop day which is being held on 30th December.
The Spitfire MkV and Comet will have steps placed alongside for cockpit viewing, weather permitting the Bleriot will perform an engine run at dusk.
A selection of motorbikes and cars will also be on display, the De-Dietrich which is undergoing a full restoration will also be on display as a rolling chassis.
Any feedback or comments on this event would be appreciated as it is hoped to become an annual event.
I am pretty sure it was taxied at some shows a while ago so it is possible that it will have another saunter around Old Warden in October and having seen it listed others have , quite reasonably assumed it will be flying. .
It did indeed taxi at some shows sir, but at the moment it’s up on jacks with the landing gear in bits, so don’t expect to see it out on the flight line anytime soon.
Sorry to disappoint you, but it’s unlikely to fly this season, just wondering who was responsible for the add listing the Comet as due to display.
Any signt of the wildcat tailplanes or engine?
Engine, prop and tail feathers are all at OW.
When assembled, it will be on static display in one of the hangers quite soon.
Why was the Spitfire stripped down to the last bolt?
Because this is the first rebuild in the aircrafts history.
The Bristol Fighter has been inspected and repaired where required by the collections engineers, who are now waiting delivery of a few bracing wires for the fuselage.
The aircraft is now assembled and back on display in it’s usual hanger. Engine runs and systems checks have not yet been completed, and will more than likely take place in the new year, due to other winter projects work which were delayed while the Bristol Fighter repairs were carried out.

Hello FMK.6JOHN,
The Canon Pixma IP6700D is a good printer and can be found in your budget range. I’m happy with the quality of the prints from this printer, but no doubt you will also get replies from others who are happy with other makes of printer. Whatever you final choice, i would strongly recomend using genuine inks and paper to achieve the best results.
Hope that helps,
Regards,
Dave
