The latest US submission to the UN register on transfers of conventional arms ( http://www.un-register.org/ReportingStatus/mRegisterDetail.aspx?Register_Id=6409&YearDate=2014 ) states that the USA transferred 5 P-3B Orions to Pakistan in 2014. I assume that these are P-3Bs gifted to Pakistan that are still in the USA for modernisation/rebuild to P-3C or another modern version. Anyway seen more on this?

Angolan upgrades
The Polish Su-22M-4 #9305, upgraded & modernized by joint venture IAI – Israel and WZL-2 – Poland and displayed at MSPO 2001 exhibition in Kielce – Poland, seem to become the best upgraded Su-22 that has ever been built or at least ever shown. We can see in the photo below, the EL/M-2032 radar pod was attached on the left pylon and the Litening targeting pod was attached on the right pylon under fuselage

M-2000 or (M)F-2000?
Note that the article says ’18 F-2000′. I guess they mean Mirage F-1s upgraded by the Astrac consortium to the MF-2000 version. Considering that Iraq used to have a considerable number of Mirage F-1s that would make a lot of sense.
A good chunk of the new Iraqi government bureaucracy is left over from he Saddam days and they have always had good working trade relations with European defence companies including Dassault, perhaps this is an attempt by the Iraqis to meet their requirements (the retiring ex-French Air Force Mirage 2000Cs) and please their transatlantic political benefactors (the United States). The main concern I guess for the Iraqis is not threatening their neighbours as Iraq historically done while at the same time maintaining a robust Air Force to defend itself from its external and internal enemies which is why all these aircraft are refurbished and not new…. also they’re most likely marked down and Iraq has a lot of other financial concerns involved in rebuilding than just defence.
