Why? we do not need a new Dambusters film.
awesome, get her shipped over here!!
There’s still a huge amount to be done,
Now that’s an understatement..
The fact that 109s are fairly scarce, perhaps?
One of these bad boys:
The ubiquitous Dan Snow… NOOOOOO!
or even a half and half…
Now that would be epic, though for all the wrong reasons…
How many people on here have been to the MBCC at Cosford recently ?
Have you actually asked the technicians who work in there if they know what the plans are for the Wellington ?
I have… and they don’t…
Good point, all this argument and no concrete substance. It has certainly touched a few nerves though, albeit rightly so.
Yes, but remember an OTU aircraft would be bomber configured. This is a navigation trainer.
Moggy
Sorry, that was my point. ie, paint it as a bomber to represent several things in one go. I think the OTUs should be remembered, especially as a memorial to the hundreds of aircrew who were killed when their clapped out Wellingtons finally gave up the ghost. The bomber look would also show people Bomber Command’s early war effort and a major part of the thousand bomber raids. Put simply, the Wellington is too important to mess around with.
Ah, ok, thanks.
Someone using the panel for target practise??
Didn’t R Robert’s crew perish when she ditched, therefore making it something of a grave? There are plenty of Wellington bits around to enable one to see the construction, I think the Doncaster museum has a few considerable pieces.
The Wellington is crucial to the history of Bomber Command and the early bombing campaigns of WWII. It should be left as it is!!!
Just seen the inevitable repeat, interesting stuff. I’ve heard stories about the RAF hospital at Matlock and it didn’t sound a nice place.
Yeah, there’s no rush like
