“Centaur-class fast assault craft for Ukrainian Navy”
Looks like it is armed with four 12.7mm heavy machine guns and two helicopter rocket pods. I wonder how useful those rockets would be fired from a ship.
“Its the 1980s and your Air Force will choose only 1 or 2 fighters for its core!”
Hi-mix = Mirage 4000

“there is not a plan right now for a specific materiel solution for the replacement round,” Capt. James Kirk, the former commanding officer of the destroyer Zumwalt (DDG-1000), told reporters at the Surface Navy Association symposium.
Captain James Kirk? Are you serious. That is awesome!!!
I don’t understand the thought process of buying three different twin engine heavy fighters from three different countries? If Qatar wants political influence through arms purchases then buy aircraft/helicopters from one country, ships/submarines from another country, and air defense/ground equipment from the third country. That seems a lot more balanced then buying three different twin engine fighters that all fill the same role.
Not different varieties. 32x A-70 Sylver VLS cells on the FREMMS loaded with 16x SCALP, 8x Aster-30, and 8x Aster-15 missiles. Of course this could be changed for different operational situations but this would be the standard fit. The GoWind 2500 would be armed with 8x A-43 Sylver VLS cells armed with Aster-15 missiles.
I like this French based naval force for Canada since it is totally different than the American/British equipment Canada has always used. It would also give the French Canadians a sense of pride in their navy!

“Officials considered bringing back into service two Dassault Mirage 2000-5 fighters, retired in 2010, but ultimately decided to buy Kfirs.”
When did Colombia get Mirage 2000-5 fighters?
I started this thread 6 years ago. I can’t believe these ships will be entering service after such a long period of time. Anyone know about the refurbishment these ships went through and how long of life they are expected to have?

A Hsiung Feng III missile was fired and hit a fishing boat off the Penghu islands killing the boat’s captain, a Taiwanese man.
But then I would have to go to the General Discussion Thread and sort through all the anti-American crap from people like Moggy!
Sorry to bring up a really old thread but whatever happened to this project? Did the Swedes cancel it or is it still being tested?
Thanks
I think the A129I is more of a dedicated attack / anti armour helicopter than a scout helicopter. I thought MD was going to offer a new combat version based on their MD-900 but I guess they are offering the smaller MD-540A.
So this ship can operate a MD-500MD/ASW helicopter from the aft position. Can the ship refuel the helicopter or is it just a landing pad? Does the ROCN have any plans to replace the ageing MD-500 fleet with a new naval helicopter or a drone like the MQ-8B?
