Why doesn’t this thread have a poll? Any who, I like the AW-149 for Poland. I do not think Poland will ever buy Russian arms again and would rather support it’s NATO allies through military purchases.

Cleaning up the logistics!

NAVY

*2x Karel Doorman Class – Joint Support Ship – Netherlands
*Price: $400 million each ($800 million)
*Weapons: Two OTO Marlin-WS 30mm cannons
Four OTO Hitrole 12.7mm heavy machie guns
Two 21-cell RAM launchers
*Aviation: Six EC-725 helicopters ($25 million each = $150 million)

One 21-cell RAM launcher
One 16-cell ESSM vertical launch system
Two twin Otomat Mk.2 Block IV launchers
Two twin MU90/Impact 324mm torpedo launchers.
*Aviation: One EC-725 helicopter ($25 million each = $50 million) (Replacing Lynx HAS.3)
*Note: Replacing Type-21 Class

*2x SIGMA Class – Corvette – Netherlands
*Price: $250 million each (500 million)
*Weapons: One OTO Super Rapid 76mm cannon
One OTO Marlin-WS 30mm cannon
Two OTO Hitrole 12.7mm heavy machine guns

Two twin MILAS launchers
Two twin MU90/Impact 324mm torpedo launchers
*Aviation: One EC-725 helicopter ($25 million each = $50 million) (Replacing Lynx HAS.3)
*Note: Replacing Type-21 Class

*2x Holland Class – Offshore Patrol Vessels – Netherlands
*Price: $175 million each (350 million)
*Weapons: One OTO Super Rapid 76mm cannon
One OTO Marlin-WS 30mm cannon
Two OTO Hitrole 12.7mm heavy machine guns
*Aviation: One EC-725 helicopter ($25 million each = $50 million) (Replacing Lynx HAS.3)
*Note: Replacing Castle Class

*4x Cape Class – Patrol Craft – Australia
*Price: $50 million each (200 million)
*Weapons: One OTO Marlin-WS 30mm cannon
Two OTO Hitrole 12.7mm heavy machine guns

Total = $2.2 Billion Dollars

AIR FORCE

*2x E-2D Advanced Hawkeye – AEW&C – USA
*Price: $180 million each ($360 milllion)

*12x Textron Scorpion – Trainer / ISR – USA
*Price: $25 million each ($300 million)

*Price: $5 Million each ($120 million)

*4x P-3 Orion Fleet Upgrades – USA
*Price: $5 million each (20 million)

Total = $800 Million Dollars

First, I would contact the Netherlands and offer to buy 2 new Joint Support ships, 2 new SIGMA Class ships, and Two new Holland Class ships as long as they donate their two Karel Doorman Class Frigates for free. However, My country would be responsible for the price of the weapon upgrades. In this scenario the logistics will be smooth since all the ships (except for the 4x Cape Class) and all the electronics are coming from the Netherlands. All the cannons and heavy machine guns would be coming from OTO Melara (Italy). All the anti-ship missiles and torpedoes would be coming from MBDA (Italy). All the Helicopters would be coming from France. All the air defense systems and and all the aircraft in the Air Force are sourced from the USA. Finally, The new E-2D and Scorpion aircraft would give my country an excellent Intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capability that is currently lacking.

You do know those extra fuel tanks aren’t permanent and they can be switched out with other ordnance?

The EA-18G can carry any weapon the F/A-18F can carry so I don’t understand why the Growler couldn’t carry Harpoons? The US Navy just doesn’t use the Growler in that role because it doesn’t have to worry about anti-shipping missions.

I feel like this thread should have a poll!

EF-18G with jamming equipment and harpoons wins my vote.

Russian Volunteers = Russian people who volunteered to join the Russian army and then were sent to invade Ukraine because Ukraine wants closer relations to Western Europe rather than the dictatorship ruling Russia. I wouldn’t mind seeing some American Volunteers (Marine Expeditionary Units) deployed to Ukraine. Has Ukraine asked for any foreign help with this invasion?

The multiple rocket launchers is an odd choice for a ship like this as it is more common on landing craft like the Zubr Class. Maybe these were the only weapons that were available from Ukraine. Project SV 01 is armed with two SHTURM combat modules so they basically arm their ships with anything that Ukraine can get them. It is interesting to see such a small African country build a strong navy.

Why waste a bigger C-295 with the same fit that is on the smaller and cheaper CN-235? Jordan should just convert more CN-235s if they want more gunships or add more weapons and systems to the bigger C-295.

Lastly of course there is surface warfare. As noted earlier this is complicated owing to the nature of the environment. Shoal waters, island archipelago’s, considerable fishing and mercantile traffic etc all adds up to a difficult surface plot for both attacker and defender.

I see and respect your point of view but every country (Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Taiwan) in the region deploys long range anti-ship missiles. The Philippines will need to match this capability if they ever want to create a credible deterrence and be able to defend their EEZ.

My view here is that a couple of active flotilla’s of Hyabusa class FAC(M) outfitted with NSM and, if affordable, STRALES (in place of SSM-1B and 76SR) would offer more, in specific sea denial terms, than a pair of new build frigates.

VT Halter Marine delivers the last Ambassador MK.III to Egypt this year. The Philippines should really apply for a FMS loan and sign a contract for this craft. All the tooling and the knowledgeable workforce is already in place and they would be able to start on the Philippines order right after the Egyptian order has been completed. The Ambassador MK.III is armed with 8 Harpoons so this would be a huge step up in capability and would give the Philippines a credible deterrence and the ability to defend the EEZ. I am a huge fan of the Hyabusa Class but I doubt Japan will start exporting military equipment within the next 5 years.

Now that Yaku boy escaped the country and the rebel alliance storming the capital buildings

X-Wing fighters and A-Wing bombers. What else would the rebel alliance use?

On a serious note I wish this uprising would have happened during the Russian / Georgia War. Too bad Ukraine extended the lease on the naval base in Sevastopol to Russia. If Ukraine joins NATO then upgraded F-16s should be able to replace the Mig-29s. Try to get a good deal on some new Super Hornets to replace the Su-27s and Su-24s. Keep the Su-25s. Ukraine should be able to sell the Su-27s to a third party. Not sure what they would do with the Su-24s maybe sell them to Iran for oil?

Doing a bit of digging on SEA1180 and the MRV80 it appears that the concept has been well explored and has a measure of popular support with the local defence enthusiast community at least!. The link to the in-country Austal facility, as you mention, is well noted.

Can the Austal facility in the Philippines handle anything over 60 meters? I did not think so but I could be mistaken.
