    Just a quick question!

What is the status of the final Russian Slava Class Cruiser. It was formerly known as Admiral Flota Lobov but then Ukraine announced its intention to complete her, name her Ukrayina, and make her the flagship of the fleet. The Last reports I have heard has Ukraine trying to sell her back to the Russian Navy… Any new news? Does she have the same weapons as her sister ships?

Sorry if this question has been asked before. I did a quick search on this forum and did not come up with an answer!

North Korea has had a catameran in service for a while. Anyone have pics of that ship? According to Haze Gray it is armed with “2 SS-N-2 Styx SSM, 1 100mm/56 DP, 1 dual 37 mm AA, 2 dual 25 mm AA, 2 RBU-1200 ASW rocket launchers, DC racks” and has not been “a success.”

    “the destroyer Admiral Ushakov”

What class does this ship belong too? The last Soviet/Russian ship that I remember having this name was a Kirov Class Cruiser?

Will the Meko’s be fitted with a gun in the “A” position? It looks really bare there right now. How many vertical launch cells do these ships carry? I know they are armed with the South African designed Umkhonto-IR missile.

“It was only going to be an 8-cell bank fitted with Sea Sparrow.”

A lot better weapon against aircraft then the twin 37mm mounts.

I believe Qatar wants to sell their Mirage-2000-5 fleet. I wonder if Brazil could get a good price on these birds and then buy more Mirages from France later.

My vote would go to the Argentine A/T-63! Since LM owns that bird now it could be a good contender. However, Greece may have to satisfy the EU nations and buy something built in one of those countries.

“Now how can you justify the acquisition of costly and most likely unnecessary military hardware over much needed economic and social programs?”

Garry can justify this purchase because it is from Russia if they had purchased western equipment he would agree with you! 😀

Wasn’t intended as “flamebait”. Just wondering if Russia could start up production and get these birds delivered within ten years. Hopefully Yemen will get those SMTs soon.

What country? Singapore? I did not know Singapore deployed the Python 4! I think any fighter can be fitted with any missile as long as you have the money and the time to make them both compatable. It would be cheaper just to purchase the two versions of the MICA. France would probably program these missiles into the final price of the contract.

The only reason the USA didn’t want Iran to get those Mig-29s is because they are fitted for nuclear weapon delivery unlike the usual exported Mig-29.

I know I heard of two Su-27Ps being operated by civilians in the US but after two years of searching for more info on the Net I can not find any more info on this.

Country has no money and no threats. Hmmmm, a land locked New Zealand? Well since I have no money I guess I have to buy Russian rather than Western gear so here it goes.

    Helicopter Fleet
    *48 Mi-1-17V (Transport Helicopter)
    *36 Ka-60 (Utility Helicopter)
    *24 Mi-35P (Assault Helicopter)
    *12 Ka-52 (Attack Helicopter)
    *6 Mi-26 (Heavy Lift Helicopter)

    Fixed Wing Fleet
    *24 Su-25UBM (Training / Attack Aircraft)
    *12 Su-25SM (Attack Aircraft)
    *6 An-74 (Transport Aircraft)
    *3 An-70 (Transport Aircraft)

The only problem with these potential customers is that they have no money to replace aircraft. Syria would love to retire some of its old fighters and get new Mig-29s and flankers but they can’t because they already owe Russia billions of dollars in debt. Some of the other countries you mentioned will not have enough money to purchase this fighter in large numbers if any at all.

P.S. I doubt it will be in the F/A-22 Class. More likely in the F-35 Class.
