I would rather see Vietnam get something like the Yak-130 or Mig-A/T to fill the point defense fighter role rather then the Mig-29 or LCA. That way you can train your pilots in advanced trainers and also have a good fighter that could compliment the bigger Su-27 / 30.

The USA does not view Taiwan as a part of China even if they do say this in public. The Americans just say that to please China. It is what we like to call a BIG FAT LIE. If the USA really viewed Taiwan as a part of China then the USA would not sell Taiwan all this military equipment to protect themselves from China. The USA would also go to war against China if Taiwan was invaded. That doesn’t really sound like a One China Policy to me. But you guys can believe what the Americans say in public and believe in the One China Policy.
