Much snow on the ground? 😀
Happy New Year

Depends on the emergency timetable East Coast trains issue on Saturday, but tempting 🙂

Just in case any one is thinking of paying Duxford a visit this weekend
AirSpace open on Friday 8 January 2010
Due to extreme weather conditions, some of the exhibitions are closed today, but you can enjoy the whole of AirSpace – including the Concorde and interactive gallery at the reduced admission prices of £6.00 for Adult and £4.00 for Senior/Student. As usual children come FREE. The Museum shop and restaurant remain fully open.
In other words the hangers & the American Air Museum are not accessible and I can see this in place till the snow is gone.

Four visitors through the gates today, so I’ve just been informed.
FW is outside again, looks good in the snow.
Would have been five if they hadn’t restricted access to the place. 😀
Brian
£6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dear god man do you know what they change hands for now:D.
Regards,
John.
The last price I saw a few years ago was £25. Still hanging on to mine 😀

They’ll be renting out pitches to the Caravan Club next……
Don’t jest. Aren’t they looking for somewhere temporary to house all the foreign workers building the Olympic stuff.
Brian
😀 Some places will still be open 361 days per year; have held their prices at 2009 levels and the same applies for their membership rates! 😉
Vulchers circling comes to mind :diablo:
Brian
Thank you Anna (if I may).
Excellent news for a wet and dismal Friday.

Statement on the IWM Web Site re: Pricing policy for Air Show Fly-In Days
The pricing policy for Air Show Fly-In Days is currently under review. Further information will be available soon.
However, following discussions with Friends of Duxford (FoD), members of FoD will not be charged for entry to the museum on Air Show Fly-In Days on Friday 9 July and Friday 3 September. This event is not classified as a Special Interest Day or Air Show and as previously, FoD members will not be charged admission.
Friends of Duxford are vital to the ongoing success of the Museum, with an avid support for IWM Duxford that has allowed the creation of AirSpace, the Wright Flyer exhibition and, currently in development, Historic Duxford.
We value the Friends of Duxford greatly and acknowledge that an incorrect pricing decision was made in this case, for which we apologise. The Museum’s partnership with Friends of Duxford is central to its continued success and we very much appreciate FoD’s ongoing support.
Information released 22 January 2010

Just dug out ‘Test Pilot’, someone burnt the 6 episodes from VHS to disc for me, and it’s running on my TV at the moment.
Typical BBC, Underside shot of a Hawk starting to roll down the runway and cuts to rear view of a Phantom in full reheat, Love the theme tune though 😮

Arrange a meeting with the likes of us of the various forums to get an ‘enthusiasts’ perspective of what would be preferable for moving the museum forward and restoring it to what it should be.
