Photo 1. Good job they took the port tip tank off before it flew.
Funny Ha Ha. I thought about cropping it out but it didn’t look right to me.

Is the ship classed as a war grave?
There was a piece on Richard and Judy (yeah I know) tonight and apparently as every one got off, it is not a War Grave but as the location is now known I think they are trying to get it classed as a War Grave to stop it getting looted like the Titanic.
The Swordfish remains could be interesting, they must have slid off the deck when it sank, could be some recoverable bits there.
They showed pictures of a Swordfish, no fabric just metal, but looked very fragile.

Duxford – 10 Feb 06
One of our suppliers uses part of Wyton as a storage base, I was there last week and the manager told me that they were on the move to find other premises as Marshalls were moving in.
On the contrary, spending shed loads on upgrading military airfields usually preceeds flogging them off.
I work at Wyton. Lots of money being spent on lots of niff naff things and there are heavy duty security gates at the main entrance now.

When I visited Duxford late last year the fuselage was in the restoration hangar & was being paint stripped. I suspect they will repaint it in BOAC colours which IMO is a great shame, that particular aircraft was also operated by Airwork & Silver City, I would much rather see it in one of those schemes.

Wasn’t a pair of Hastings wings from TG536 once in The Yorkshire Air Museum?
Said wings? at Elvington last August. Hope to be going to Duxford this Saturday so see if she has been painted.

Poor old Hastings, slowly mouldering away . . . does anyone care?
It is waiting to go into the restoration hanger. Apparently it has to be manouvered over some grass to get in to the hanger and they were waiting for the ground to dry up or freeze over. Considering the cold nights we have had the past week, it should be under cover by now.

I believe the Spitfire (heavily cropped picture) is a plastic dispaly model and another angle of the ‘Chair’

For example: the Westland Lysander being fitted with a (Lancaster?) turret containing four 0.303 machine guns
The drawing of the P.12 Lysander is just in case no one is familiar with it and it was fitted with a Boulton-Paul turret and it did fly.
Any one know about the F Hills & Son Slip-Wing Hurricane?.
Both drawing were published in the Plastic Kit Constructor Magazine 20 years ago.

The glazing in the canopy and air intake do not look right as well.
Brian
Mmmmmm….I’ll see what I can do then.

Is there a closing date for the design?
Brian
Apologies for quality, I only had my 1.3mp point and shoot camera with me.
