It’s been at Duxford since 1989, time to move on.
Brian
Restore the galleries.
Stop the security staff hunting/hiding in packs of three and four thereby allowing them to enable full access to all areas at all times.
Change Millstones into the Milestones exhibition it purports to be.

…and get rid of the civvie Merlin.

βThe Trustees and the Royal Air Force owe him a great debt of gratitude for making the RAF Museum the success it has become.β
Is there another RAF Museum then?
Brian
So we can say goodbye to lots of other live airframes then
Yes. Happens all the time.
One of the unique features of the war bird operators at Duxford. Acquire an airframe, fly it for a few years, move it on, get something else.
Brian
McAfee has flagged this site up as ‘use with extreme caution’.

As for the comment of the upper galleries becoming offices, maybe they’ve decided on a change of use because no one appears to ever visit them!:)
No one appears to ever visit them because they are always closed and I believe most of the exhibits at the top of the stairs were removed to make way for a load of computer interactive stuff.
Brian
Is there a bus service??
Transit van with seats and windows now.
Brian
And why put five pence (0.5p) on the prices. Why not round up or down and make it a nice round number.
Who carries 5p’s around with them?
Brian
Short answer – Don’t know.
If I did know, which I don’t, I’m afraid it wouldn’t be down to me to say anything as that information would have to come from TFC themselves.
Brian
A bit more of the cleaning of the Hastings.

Once I get them sorted, I’ll have a picture disc in the post to you for the archives.

Oh dear Brian, if you’d been around at about 3pm you would have seen us push the Buchon outside in its new Battle of Britain Film colour scheme and leave it there for about half an hour. Better luck next time…:p

As Denis has said, she’s “Sally B”, one of several B17’s used in the making of the 1989 movie, hence the paintjob.
Currently there are two Hurricanes at Duxford, the airworthy one pictured above, and a static example that belongs to the museum.
Three actually. The airworthy HAC Hurricane, and the two replicas. Hangar 4 and the weather vane at the gate. π
Brian
On my to get list, seeing as I missed it last Friday. Hopefully returned to Hangar 3 soon or I get tipped off its going flying π

no worse than doing something equally as dangerous, like riding a motorcycle or taking a walk in Africa looking for Tigers.
Motorcycling dangerous? Been riding a motor bike since 1971. Only come of 4 times and all 4 times on black ice.
Car drivers are the most dangerous things on the road especially on the A14 between Bar Hill and the Girton turn off as I find out every time I go to Duxford.
As for Tigers in Africa – they are found in Asia so not dangerous hunting Tigers in Africa.
Brian
Didn’t take part as I can’t speak Somali π
