and obviously shy and retiring as he is NOT looking straight at the camera !
Because he is looking side to side of the nose to keep in a straight line while taxiing, as they all do. 😀

My take on a very blustery day at Duxford.

I was going to go to the Shuttleworth air show at Old Warden but having had a look at the participation list it seemed a bit devoid of participants so went to enjoy the sunshine at Duxford. Again. Sitting out on the airfield amongst the yellow daisies was a Belgium based yellow Stearman that had night stopped before it continued on its way to Old Warden. Along’ Airliner Row’, the Dart Herald was having its Rolls-Royce Dart engines re-installed and on the Jet Pan the B-17 engineers were keeping the visitors entertained with a propeller change. They drew a bigger crowd after lunch when they ran all four engines. P-51 ‘Ferocious Frankie’ was first off to display at the Old Buckenham air display just before mid-day with Spitfire MH434 following the same route later in the afternoon. The Rv8tors departed Duxford for Old Buckenham not long after the Spitfire but not without a pass over the airfield laying a bit of a smoke screen.

My take on the day

These memberships only work if you are reasonably local or wealthy enough to travel back and forth.
I’m reasonably local but I’m not that wealthy. I’m retired.
Oh, hang on I’ve got a Civil Service pension, scrub that. 😀

Is there such a thing as free entry to a Museum?
National museums and collections are funded directly by central government and with most government departments having to find 40% savings, I can see free entry to all museums ceasing as part of the cut backs.

The Fighter Collection were out to play today with the Wildcat and P-40C having engine runs and the Corsair went off to the north for a test flight and returned with about 5 minutes of aerobatics over the airfield. Later in the afternoon, the Blenheim fired up and left for display duty at the RAF Marham Families Day. Quite a few GA visitors, group flying by the looks of it, arrived during the morning with the dull conditions brightened by the arrival of a bright red EC120B Colibri helicopter.

More likely the weather. Since I arrived the wind has got up a bit.

How long is Red 7 over in the Uk for?
It left a couple of minutes before the museum opened this morning.

You can pay for them on line and pick them up from the shop. Not handy if you’re not a regular visitor or live nearby though.
