Sorry to hear this about Kabir, will miss his posts. The 2 months should fly by, hopefully he isn’t in the Thiar Jail in Delhi. I hear thats where some nasty criminals are kept.
They are serious about this, I had secuirty in an Indian airport grab my camera while taking a family photograph. I was escorted to the chief security officer’s office and had to delete all of the pictures (digital camera). I am lucky they didn’t decide to keep it. I still have tons of other Indian and European airport photos they didn’t get 🙂
Another time I walked past the reception area at the New Delhi airport to help my Dad who was arriving push his bag trolley. The police gaurd on duty stopped me and escorted me to the airport police station. A few choice words in Hindi from my Dad made the cop change his mind.

That’s the best way, but these days all the rage is in profit improvement…given declining revenue. The management consulting and accounting firms are also walking on eggshells due to Enron. It seems everyone is within reach…

Cool – I work for the same type of firm – accountants. Certain staff levels , myself included, are allowed first class travel for international business. I rarely use it since I feel guilty expenseing $10K tickets. $5K for business seems to raise less eyebrows.
Otherwise the rule is do whatever the client does, within reason of course.

Seen those cabins they look nice! The only problem is that I usually sleep as soon as we take off – so much for enjoying the perks. I find it helps me with the jet lag.
Though I should try it for the fun of it… before my company bans first class travel international travel! With the US recession and Sept 11 – all the fun in business travel is going away. The money counters have realized they can squeeze more profits. They BANNED all business Concorde travel this year!
RE: What was that Plane?
Whoa… that’s it. Thanks! how did you figure it out?
RE: Saab 340
Its a nice looking plane, and recently I have been taking this often to visit a client.
Yesterday I flew a two leg flight on the Saab 340 and my back is killing me today. The seats are thin, the fight is noisy – though its probally on the of the best props I have been in. Always liked Saab.
Gwad… I miss my european clients and transatlantic flights on British Airways (love sleeper seats)! Been sitting in a massage chair for two hours today to undo the knots in my back.
