XFW is fairly easy to get to, the bus 150 from Altona(by the station) goes past the site and delivery centre.
Air traffic can vary from day to day(when I get back I will try the ops link see if it is publicly available.)

Also a piece of advice if visiting the Miniature Wonderland at the weekend, get there early!!! opens 8:00am

Flown twice recently MAN-HAM and return, about 1hr15mins, quite comfortable.
HAM isa reasonable sized airport, recently upgrade in last 2 yers, with new S Bahn connection to city every 10 mins. Good observation deck, many shops and cafes etc, both airside and landside.

If possible visit Finky(official visits are allowed when booked in advance), Airbus site, A320, and Beluga flights everyday and sometimes A380

Surprised you’re the only responder and no-one has commented on the sad news at Baby for whichI have a soft spot.

As a regular flyer between MME and Germany, I certainly do not have a soft spot for baby. Having conned the management to change from Teesside to DTVA(everybody still calls it Teesside on the KLM flights), they then pull outof MME and elsewher(LBA?) to free up slots at LGW, then the parent pulls out for the same reason re flights to LHR

I do agree with your comments, and as a regular flyer to Hamburg by whichever route, I am immune to delays etc, and understand everything that occurs and try to explain to fellow passngers what is happening . However it is the lack of reasonably accurate information that does irritate.

BTW, just read the local BBC TYNE news, it said the KLM flight was cancelled, funny that, what flight was I on?

2 options I would like to see would be firstly HAM from a E/NE airport.
And Secondly something more from MME. other that sunshine flights

I have read a lot of the above, and the continuing arguments between LS and FR, and as a frequent traveller between LBC and LBA at weekends with LS over the last 3 months, I can only say that the flight has been on time only once, several times 2-3 hours late from LBC.(late incoming from LBA obviously)
Re an earlier thread of mine re withdrawal of LBA-LBC, I would say that punctuality was a reason for lower loads, also I dont ever remember seeing any advertising in Hamburg newspapers etc re Jet2.
I would only be too pleased if FR took up a path from a NE England airport to HAM backed up by their level of marketing. The HAM(LBC)-STN invaraibly has a high seat occupancy
LS has a lot to learn if it wants to stay in the LCC market

Thanks for that. I guess that had to be the case, although the weekend flights loads were increasing to about 60%. I will have to revert to KLM via AMS to MME, or occasionally TUI via HAJ-NCL, AB HAM-MAN then train, and as a last resort FRA LBC-STN

Just seen footage of the crash a/c and rescue attempts on french Euronews ( not BBC or Sky yet) and am amazed at the low number of fatalities, sad as always, but remarkable relief for everyone else
