what tactics ? oh thats right the 100’s and 100’s of ‘surprise’ tactics
but ok, you want to start bvr, the french have already said the SH has better radar and missile, you are already dead well before wvr

    ok, lets start with wvr
The JHMCS is in production and is currently operational with U.S. fighter aircraft. This highly accurate cueing system provides pilots with “First look, First shot” high off-boresight weapons engagement capabilities. JHMCS enables the pilot to accurately direct (cue) onboard weapons against enemy aircraft while performing high-G aircraft maneuvers. The pilot needs only to point his / her head at the target and weapons will be directed to where the pilot is looking. The system can also be employed to accurately cue the pilot to ground targets. As a cueing system, JHMCS is a two way interface in that sensors aboard the aircraft can cue the pilot to potential targets or, conversely, the pilot can cue weapons and sensor systems to areas of interest. Critical information and symbology such as targeting cues and aircraft performance parameters are graphically displayed directly on the pilot’s visor.

you are being silly now, SA and sensors leave the rafale embarrassed
even the french arent saying that, they arent even saying they got a bvr hit

nope, if it was the other way around and rafale had the better radar and missile and the SH had to rely on ‘surprises’
with the french admiral saying the SH was very capable, i’d take it for what its worth

    remember i’m a f-35 fanboy

what do you expect him to say, show me where there is an us offical bagging any friendly airforce
france said the rafale was behind in radar and missiles, how many ‘surprises’ can 4 rafale x 2 sorties a day for a week come up with ?

there is a french exchange pilot, see if he has given an interview

once again it doesnt say what you claim, it was a dogfight and in a guns dogfight i’d give it to the rafale

they have said the SH is better in BVR, the rest is nonsense about an edge

    Against the Superhornet block 2

-In dogfihts the rafale was clearly superior. Rafale pilots told that the SH has an impressive ability to take a lot of angle of attack…Up to 65° in defensive manoeuvres. But that resulted in a lot of energy loss and were then easy prey as the SH tend to “sink” after such manoeuvres

-In BVR against the SH block2 rafale pilots acknowledge that SH AESA radar has a greater range than the rbe2 PESA and that lattest amrams versions have a bigger reach than micas. However the OSF, sensor fusion, correct use of link 16 and surprising tactics helped the rafale to keep an edge.

What jammers does it have? AFAIK the Australian SH cannot use their AESA for EW; perhaps there is a separate system?

we dont have EA through the aesa yet but EW jamming etc and the towed array, IOC end 2011 so will be done by then and we are getting a dozen wired as ea-18g growlers

If we assume the two has somewhat similar RCS loaded with bombs, (and the lower the a/c RCS, the more similar with bomb load)
and we can say that EW works to a degree, but does not completely take away a signature, and that both a/c either used, or didn’t use EW,
    (similar conditions, as FAB stated)
-Then the french EW has to be over a houndred times more effective then the american EW for this statement to be true.

it doesnt pass the common sense test, does it
have a look at the jammers the SH uses
