    sorry about that 😀
at least they will agree with the french subs being a good idea at SP
the other may get a bit messy :diablo:
if swedes gave better TOT to their fighter and for other programs, it gets even stranger
i still think russia and china sound like a good idea to build ties with for them, if they want to be anti-usa
    the subs ties france

The Brazilian government will not make a decision on the F-X2 fighter competition before presidential elections in the country in the fall, predicts the Brazilian air force chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Saito. He indicates a decision may have been made, but will be handed off by president Lula to his replacement.
Saito will not say which aircraft he prefers.

-You said rafale has the lowest Radar signature. 1% of SH RCS in similar config seems too low to be achieved only through RAM and shaping especially with external stores. Do you have other infos on that or a if there is a link with spectra and active cancelation ? Istoe report told that SH could not see the rafale if I remember well. This is also quite surprising and most of the people including myself were quite skeptical.

re: if the rafale is 1 sq m then SH is 100 sq m, you indeed should be skeptical

this was posted in another thread

Competitor EADS, by the way, assesses the existing (Super Hornet) aircraft as one of the stealthiest fighters out there, other than full-LO designs.

    @Loke
pepe has only made a few posts here, some content sounds ok and creditable
but IMHO he has presented information that’s intentionally biased by omission.
Poorly advised by his ‘contacts’ which he seems to accept without thought, on his behalf, this may give some points leeway in fact, as it seems there is a misinformation program with the competition
before i would accept points from pepe, i would look to have it confirmed from other sources
as i said initially, i hold him to a higher standard than us fanboys but frankly i’m disappointed

i havent really looked at a f-15 but the engine upgrades on the SH will give it better acceleration than SH has now, but i think i lean to the f-15 for acceleration at a guess
but it wont be based on which one is the fastest 🙂 but i’m sure someone will say the f-15 is m2.5 and the SH is m1.7, so f-15 wins

the f-15 aesa will have the apg-79 SH backend and a larger antenna, so 15 should have the edge there in the se/uber, if both have the same [new or 79] backend
its a matter of other systems that boeing puts in, ultimately its up to them which one will be ‘better’

dont you mean, can the f-15 regain lost ground and exceed the capability of the fa-18 sh, within systems the se vs uber hornet

    @Kovy
do you want me to give a source that there is a link to mica [one way, not 2 way] i can do that
what i cant do is give a source that isar & ea is even on the 2020 map

this started when arthuro was negative to the gripen radar and i said ‘aesa’ had isar and ea, unlike rafale
it has gone from there and yes there are plans for the phoon to have isar,
but why put up a link, you dont even believe thales and dassault and say that even though its not stated, it doesnt mean it doesnt have it
someone told me aussie f-35 are going to have 2 engines, just because its not stated by LM, doesnt mean it wont

What are the details? What does the $138million/unit cost include? I am sure the story gets more interesting in the details. Or is that classified? Any folks here who can reveal more non-classified details about the canadian deal? The only info I got from it was that its canadian dollars. 🙂 And when was it decided …. on current exchange rates or was the price agreed upon much before?

    nar, its not classified
they are paying more to get the electrostatics [plasma stealth] 😎
we went with a cloaking devise and photon direct energy weapons

their cost would include all infrastructure to put a new craft into play + spares, training, sims etc etc

you have a short memory, i said this before and you responded similarly 😀
its only when i’m playing with fanboys i normally leave that part out :diablo:

    @Blue Apple
open the link, they were hoping just to get sar on the rafale, let alone anything else
you guys are funny, you demand proof, i put up a dassault link saying it didnt have sar at the time and wanted it, you say its no good,
its like i’m trying to tell you there isnt a god :dev2:

The winner is the Rafale because ToT is very important.

Unless, of course, you have proves that such changes had been made to made Rafale the winner.

go back and read the post about the fa-18 being the winner, that i was replying to about TOT % being adjusted for rafale

there was a lack of funding and it wasted a good plane, it missed out on early export and so didnt give funds to do it right even now
the french arent going to spend any money on it, if a customer wants anything, they have to pay for it
there is talk of 2020 major upgrade, that will take it to 2050+
no 1st tier force will be flying any 4+gen well before that
my guess is france will continue with the 4 possible sales and then scrap the rafale and join in a partnership as a sensible thing to do
just being one country is being costed out of fast jets, except for usa and even they did a partnership on the f-35

if you are going to be a fanboy, at least learn a bit about your favorite, the only reason i have read a bit was because of the wild claims and me saying, that doesnt sound right
do do what proof that the current rbe2 doesnt have sar or doesnt have isar ?
it seems you have a choice in f1 but sar probable came in f-2,3,
isar isnt from past, now or next from what i have read

my point was it knocked the winner out, as said the fa-18 sh and it had to go from 10 to 40% to do it
the TOT seems the major factor, then the one with the biggest or needed TOT will win, if the new pres sees it this way too
i wouldnt be surprised to see russia back in the mix

to be honest the subs are enough to cement french/brazil,
fast jets ? i would choose gripen for need and export potential but little swede/brazil political military value
russia keeps coming up as sensible with later bring china into the mix, if they want to continue down the anti-usa path

gripen/rafale with equal avionics? i think the rafale is a good plane and my choice if i was buying a plane for just me out of the two
