I’m suggesting you take the Thales site seriously, not a generic term at a news conference.
the Thales site say what type of countermeasure it is, its ECCM

a term of ‘countermeasures’ from a press conference means nothing, as i said
so is this is what you are going to hang your hat on and not the official Thales specs that say ec-countermeasures ?
it is obvious Thales doesnt mix up ECCM and ECM, like it seems you have

do you want me to explain the significance of not having ISAR to you ?

I guess i will have to provide the link, you should really know what you are talking about, wild claims look silly
NOTE, there is no mention of ISAR, do you know why this is significant ?

Are you Bluewings ? you dont seem to know why you think rafale is the best, its just that it is the best
put up a link that rbe-2 has isar

Repeating the quote doesnt make it right, eccm is the probable meaning, but as i said it needs clarification
i am also waiting for a statement that rbe-2 will have EW/EA

Do you even know what Invesrse SAR is, let alone if rafale has it.
i would be happy to see a link that it does, because i cant find one

Also, your quote about countermeasures needs clarification, as it it too generic a statement
do you have the link to where Thales or dassault say it will have EW in ~2012

There are no foreseeable plans to put EW on the radar.
So Pierre-Yves Chaltiel thinks rafale is wonderful, did he say why the carrier fighter doesnt have inverse sar ?

inverse sar, ew are the 2 that stood out with a quick glance, but as you are vehement in your claims, you would be fully conversant with those you find sub-standard and would be in a better position to explain why you know the rbe2 will be superior

also can you tell me why an antenna that is at 90 deg to the center line of the plane is superior to one that isnt, being off-set and also movable. ‘swashplate ?’

If you look at the specs of the gripen and phoon radar, you might want to rethink that the thales upgrade for rafale is superior.
It look as if it falls short of your claim
Do you have any links to support your view ?

The GaN was the 7 multi-nation and 20+ companies in the development, i was referring to.
to single Thales out of this seems false, as it would be to single out any other

sorry, i forget that english is your second language and i will try harder to make myself clearer.

My understanding is that there is a multi-nation development program for GaN in Europe.
To single out any company and say that they are superior when the development is shared amongst all, seems a false statement.

As i have said, Thales is a respected company here and very involved in the Australian defense industry, my points arent based on being anti Thales in any way, i hold them the same as boeing, bae etc
I find fault in some of the claims about Thales and their products by fanboys
I also find that the more experienced French posters dont attempt to correct them in any way, which they may listen to

In 2015 Thales will be close to have an operational GaN fighter radar.

thats if you call f5 2020+ close
but i’d love to see the link that said around 2015 for fighter gan or are you just making it up as you go again

uae assembly, it still doesnt keep the production line running
i dont know how much is made inhouse and outsoursed
uae is still waiting for conformation that the rafale can be made to meet their requirements, last i heard

a formal declaration that he chooses rafale means nothing when the next pres comes in and calls for a re-evaluation
so in other words you agree it wont be an unrevocable signed order by this president
    what a run around

also have you looked at the gripen aesa specs that you think is substandard to the rafale aesa
i think you will be in for a shock

you didnt look did you, there were 2 sources in my post to tmor
one saying it cant be signed before the election because there isnt time to do it
the other saying it will give too much to the opposition to go ahead before the election
the other problem is the misquoting of the navy in the report about carrier suitability, another hornets nest

i saw links posted saying he isnt making a decision, and leaving it to the next pres because it is too close to the election to make such a decision
if you think this is wrong, would you like me to repost them for you ?
