i think the canopy makes it a 5th gen but lets say pilot optional
there is a lot between a scale demonstrator and 300 units, following normal R&D etc doing it on the cheap, 50+ billion euro’s and 2040+ ?

here is a usa pic of it from the 90’s p39

So how fast the F35 can fly, then?

the bump is tested up to m2, i think it is the same bump for m1.1-2.1, the rest of the intake and engine is tuned for subsonic and transonic acceleration
    m1.59+
but again i say our RAAF will never fly at max in combat

sorry, i didnt mean you, i meant the naysayers
the dsi is tested to m2, no one said the f-35 will do m2

when is 6th gen going to replace 4th gen a2a and a2g in europe ?
2040+ at least, nothing on the drawing board is even close to achieving this in europe

why ? unless you think that LM is going to jackup the specs, these are the specs they want public
its as good as its gunna get
even though the 35a has less weight and better drag, it has public m1.6, same as 35bc

its as good as any other 😎
the ea18 will work with the fa18ef and f-35and even when the f-35ngj [next gen jammer] is made
the ea18 and fa18ef will probably retire together
a jammer reduces the effective range of targeted opposition radar, so its useful for ground and air targets

now you’re getting picky, of course its a sim

The simulator is for demonstration purposes only. It is not intended to accurately simulate the F-35’s flight and handling qualities.
But Lockheed has coded the system to approximate how the F-35 should fly [as much as they want to publicly release].
So it rolls at the F-35’s promised roll-rate at 300 degrees per second.
It apparently tops out at Mach 1.6, the F-35’s top speed.

the f-35 was to replace the harrier, f-16 and the fa-18abcd not the fa-18ef who it will work with
the f-15 was to be replaced by the f-22 but they are going to work together too

the charts are the charts, make of it what you will but any way you read it the f-35a will pull more instant & sustained g and out accelerate a f-16

that paraphrases what i have read and said, if overg is saying the same, where is the dispute ?

LOL, you’re right, oh well back to google, BBS

    rafale
    270 a2a
    190 a2g

looks like we will have to wait for the f-35 a & c

    f-35b
    ~300

So it rolls at the F-35’s promised roll-rate at 300 degrees per second. It apparently tops out at Mach 1.6,

no its FCS restricted to 225 a2a
its load restricted to 150 a2g
    heavier loads would be less

it is a shame, if either of us are invited to a f-35 power point, we would get the detail

no, i was being kind on the rafale for 190, its 150-225 max and 15-30 aoa depending on load
f-35 200 and 55 was loaded, havent seen unloaded stats or max are

the f-35a is going to out turn and out accelerate a f-16 by a wide margin
pulls more g and takes less time in acceleration

obligatory, dam that wing loading and body lift
f-35 promise 200 dps roll and 55 deg aoa
rafale 190 dps roll and 30 deg aoa

mate, your imagination is getting away from you, have you an airforce that has your concept as doctrine ?

And neither can you, or you would attempt to counter with any substance.
