i doubt they would make it inhouse, i give them more credit than that to even try and i’m sure its industry standard with rcs reduction
i wouldnt be surprised if it was similar to the fa-18ef composites

0.1m2 maybe 0.2m2 thats great BW i thought that refueling probe swinging in the breeze would have been more than that, do you have numbers for the rest of the plane ?

dassault composite, i would like to see what info is on who is making it and what patents do they hold ?
    do you have links ?
you have previously said “EM transparent composites”

so do you think a bit of composite is going to fix this ?
the picture of the rafale with misfitting panels, etc on the last page and remember this

very true, spec compliant with better durability
its a shame when you have so much tech, you can just dial in the rcs you want

he spoke of the raven and went on to say There are also Taranis CG pics with the same backdrop, so as gf0012-aust says, expect more. , post number 7,
also if you search the site there is more info

the f-35 is better than the f-22 because of the fiber mat tech, the vlo in inbuilt and only the ir reduction is a coating, going by the info in the f-16 link i posted with the pic

wrong ? thats easy, there was a link a few days ago on the robustness of the f-35 signature, or didnt you read it

so do you think they have recently changed the laws of light theory ?
i would like to hear more on your thesis
thank goodness the rafale doesnt have to worry about such things because even when its clean, its dirty

no comment for now you mean, you will wash and repeat your illogical assertions again next week

who wants to take bets on the outcome of the 2011 f-35 budget being approved
heck i will even give odds on

BW you are using a very oversimplified analogy. Im guilty of it to I talk of radio waves bouncing or being reflected – now for typical convos this suffices however if youre trying to get into radar theory, then there are some serious flaws in the above.

Radar in not reflected it is reradiated as such rather than bouncing off the panel it is absorbed and reradiated – so potentially can be transmitted from a spike / edge.

And wave guide theory is just best avoided -( If you dont now dont ask and if you do know dont try and explain)

to add following – sorry took about 3 attempts – how incompetant

Edit to add just read that file

And Oh dear that paper is full of basic inacuraccies – it is over simplified
eg Reflected(see above) , Radar is used to tell aircraft there altitude – nope (although term rad alt is used) radar is used to give height – pressure is altitude
Distance = speed x time for radar its speedxtime / 2 gotta travel to ways remember

i think you are missing BW’s main point
regardless of the fact that the rafale has a refueling probe waving in the air,
the radar array at 90 deg to boresight
the optical and ir senors creating a dirty area in front of the cockpit
a multitude of sensors and general protrusions to the exterior
no effort to edge align the panels in design or production flush fitting
a general design that doesnt have the “popular” LO features of a dozen reduced rcs planes

all of these things dont count because the plane is french and he will google things that he misunderstands or simple distorts and present it as if he has found proof of jesus’s second coming

as i said earlier, the reason the f-22 doesnt have a HMD, which they want, is beacuse they cant intergrate one at this stage
    http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_6712/is_16_214/ai_n28909779/
“Because of the way JHMCS maps the cockpit electronically, we elected to defer,” said Lt. Col. Burt Wiggins, operations branch chief of the F-22 Special Management Organization at ACC. “It looks like they’re starting to sort out some of the issues on that. The JSF was pursuing a different solution where they didn’t have to magnetically map the cockpit, but now they’re starting to run into some technical issues with their approach so I think right now we’re just going to wait and see. If JHMCS matures we may go back to JHMCS, or, if the way the JSF is going, if they overcome their technology hurdles, we may go that way. At this point we can’t afford to go blazing a path of our own.”

i saw it said that the f-35 replaces f-117
but i dont go with that stuff too much, its a matter of what works in systems than platform replacement
instead of being bogged down in how the rafale is as good as the f-22 nonsense, a thread on the scheduled f-22 replacement in 2025 would be nice and by then hopefully the rafale would have had its proposed updates

it is not my intention to start a pissing contest
it was in context to the rafale proposed hmd, which some say it is bad because weight issues and a hud is better in a2a
i pointed out that the f-35 doesnt have a hud and only helmet and it was said the f-35 isnt a fighter
i put up a couple of specs to clarify
i thought the saying of the f-35 didnt have a Hud was relavent and simple answered a point about not being a fighter
