no, i guess it isnt with a promised 300 deg/s roll and 55 degree aoa
rafale 290 deg/s roll and 30 deg aoa

its just a shame it will probably be only seen at airshows as i cant see the need for it to be used in the field, as das hmd hobs is for wvr tiffs and just watching a f-35 do a level pass at an airshow simulating a dog fight isnt entertaining

With the exception of the F-22, F-35 and T-50 most aircraft fight at Mach 0.8 where delta wings offer little agility

the f-35 will tactically fly sub mach 1

Except that AdA sees the HMD as an added value for air to ground stuff, not for dogfights where HMD have a major drawback : extra weight and weight balance.

wow, i wonder why the f-35 design team didnt know this, it doesnt even have a hud
you guys can stop saying the rafale doesnt need a hmd nonsense
it is now acknowledged as “Essential”

So Id like to ask the rapid anti-F22 haters how THEY would rank the worlds fighters?
    My rank for a2a is

    F-22
    Su-35
    Sukhoi Su-30MKI
    F-18E/F ( jammers AESA)
    French Rafale
    Typhoon
    F-15SG ( Aesa)
    Block 50+ F-16
    griphen

In 10-15 years it will be
    F-22
    T-50/Su-50
    F-35
F-15SE ( If its gets orders)
    SU-35
    F-18F
    Rafale with meteor
    Typhoon with meteor

which ever one is fighting in the better system at the time :diablo:

what a surprise, snafu posted another nonsense post

the 60 more is from the current usaf boss who hasnt been sacked

Another $10 bn? (I’m assuming you mean $ anyway)….Well, that’d be…Sensible. Good luck with finding it if some odd person decides its a good idea to do so, higly unlikly of course but it’d be a fan-boys dream come true, imagine the state he’ll leave his pants…No don’t imagine that, very wrong.

And you really be a Yank, theres NO self respecting Aussie in the world that’d happily say ‘its nice being Americas b*tch’. :diablo:

it would only be a problem if we really thought it was true
but as we get even better access to some us tech than even britan and canada, the other 2, we must be the cute one 😎

Gosh he wanted a whole 60 more and didn’t get fired…that’s your argument…c’mon really? 😮

Where’s the article that says the first guy was only lobbying for 60 as well? You need to produce that or your “argument” is non existent.

Btw typing slowly doesn’t make a difference to the speed i read at…:).. and doesn’t neceassily make your post any more coherent…:)

i guess when you dont see that ‘type slowly’ is a substitute for ‘speak slowly’ it can only go down hill

The future is uncertain. Nobody knows what will be required 30 years from now on and that includes you and pfcem, as well. You both, too, got NO CLUE and your guesses are by no means more educated than mine.

Pentagon have chosen their path of concentrating on high performance/value assets which are very useful in symmetrical conflicts but next to useless in today’s smaller-scale guerilla conflicts. Time will tell who was right, but if I was a guerilla fighter, I would be glad to hear that I will have enemy F-35s over my head and soldiers with M4s in not-armored Humvees against me. It sounds so much more comfortable than F-16Es + FFW-ed soldiers on the ground equipped with ENVGs, MR-C rifles, CornerShots, MR-fluid armor or XOS exoskeletons.

i guess thats why they call it defense future planning instead of, what are we doing today
a nonarmored Humvee was a crime in retrospect and an example of poor future planning, thanks for putting that up as an example
