Good point, but I think emissions control is a lot tighter on modern fighter aircraft than soviet or chinese manufactured trucks during the Vietnam war. The same thing could be said about jamming though- if certain jamming modes are used then the ALR-94 can pick them up as well, though SPECTRA can form a pencil-beam jamming signal, thus decreasing the chance of ALR-94 detecting it. More likely though was that the Rafale was actually emitting via RBE-2 or maybe even SPECTRA in a training or degraded mode, and there happened to be an F-22 in the nearby area, which may or may not have been participating in the exercise either on the same side or against the Rafale.

i think we agree and that vietnam was just given as a basic example, as you know i wasnt trying to say fighters dont try and control their non-intentional radiated emissions but whether that 100% or not is another question along with its intentional emissions through jamming, radar and coms
i guess thats why they spend so much money on signature management in its various forms

As far as I know , the active capabilities of Spectra have never been used outside of French territory . Some capabilities have been demonstrated during the South-Korean and Singaporian evaluations but under tight restrictions and against foreign aircraft flown by Korean and Sing pilots .

the rafale has been dragged around the world and evaluated by any airforce and gov that was buying a plane, there are no secrets to 1/2 the world
we rejected it in 2001 and they came back in 2004 to try again and aussies are pro french, thales gets 10% of its income in australia and we brought frog air tankers and choppers
the list that doesnt want the rafale is long

i’m thinking about the radiated rf/em that planes give off/emit, other than the radar and deliberate transmissions

in vietnam war, they bombed the trucks under the tree canopy by detecting and locating the rf of the spark plug system and that was 30 years ago
just because the radar isnt on, it doesnt mean you’re not emitting rf

you would have to look at usn budget forcasts for exact numbers which were planned as annual orders
but it is my understanding that this just confirms the total number in the MY contract, giving job security etc

i did an edit while you were posting and gave the APA link he uses them now and then, anyone in the industry dismisses them and thier public sourced info
if russia had this tech they would be using it, they arent even using it on the PAC in the future, they are going with a blocker, gee i hate that term it isnt a blocker, you cant block radar

Ah probably an internet rumour then, a bit like active stealth, ram coated refuelling probes, and honest politicions

i see you are new here, they are all true, along with plasma stealth and a2a missiles that will kill anything at 100k unless you have canards

Alright this is getting ridiculous. Every time somebody posts something that contradicts your opinion, you simply state that it doesn’t count (for whatever reason). I’m not gonna keep googling for sources for you because you insist that the ones I post “don’t count.” We already posted YF-23 pictures, which you insisted didn’t count because it was a prototype (which is laughable). I posted a link stating that it was possible to coat fan blades with RAM- something I have seen in multiple places, but that doesn’t count because you don’t like Bill Sweetman. Go find your own sources if mine aren’t good enough. I’m tired of playing games.

like i said, if i post a pic of the pak-fa that shows the blades, does that prove there wont be SM in the production plane

russian tech, i know our engines are shockers and cant keep them running but i have a good idea, instead of s ducts or blockers for the su-xx that everyone uses, lets develop ram coated blades, it should be easy

10-15 ir would be assam iris-t python and aim-9x not the amraam, but i agree with your point about agility the mica has less than the other ir’s, but there is a bit more than that to it as H has told you on SP

Also, fan blades can be RAM coated as well

well at the end of this page, i guess i will have to google myself to get an answer about the rafale ef gripen intakes and see what info is on the yf-23, not that i really care about a it

LOL that is my point, a nice return off the fan you can see
when they bounce around inside to be signature managed in various ways, this is a good thing

it doesnt need to bounce if you can see it, it should give a nice return a good s you wont see the fan i think
even the sh has diverters/blockers for the fan, let alone the f-22 and f-35

do the eurofighters and gripen have blockers ?

i have answered and asked what is needed to prove your point
should i just copy paste it to your posts ?
prototypes dont cut it, the fans of the pak-fa are visible now but wont be, post what was planned
then we can look at the f-22 and f-35 if you wish

again, all you need to do is show that the looser in the comp was going to have the fan showing in production
if i put up the prototype for the pak-fa showing the fan, that will prove the production one wont have blockers
