The image I posted shows the outline of the engine inlet and it’s clear that nearly 100% of the engine face can be seen from certain angles.
I also have a pic of YF-23’s intake with engine installed and yes, you can easily see the engine face.

i have answered and asked what is needed to prove your point
should i just copy paste it to your posts ?
prototypes dont cut it, the fans of the pak-fa are visible now but wont be, post what was planned
then we can look at the f-22 and f-35 if you wish

all you need to do is run it 15 times and have the same result, did they ?
then you can say there is a trend

    Prior Lancey
sounds like you know a bit about it
do you know if the rafale has a baffle/blocker in front of the fan ?

Mica is an AtoA missile for christ’s sake!

didnt i read they are surface to air and air to surface as well ?
or was it just surface to air and a2a

ok, the rwr giving the bearing of a plane for a loal flat trajectory chase missile
do you know another way spectra can do it ?
i havent see the range info given for this method

The point is that the Rafale needs no extra equipment to do the same job as a F16CJ.

Look again I’m not your mom.

    it didnt have its gear
there is directional rwr like a lot of planes including the rafale ?
it would have used its radar to map like the rafale would do for a gps, but it said they used the tv camera
no one has told me how the camera gives gps coords yet
i think the author missed out the step of radar mapping it

so basically the f-16 didnt have its pods as it was on another mission, but it only didnt have a tv camera compared to a rafale if its rwr has been kept up to date
i guess it didnt have its flir pod either, was it in limited a2a role ?

    You missed a sentence :
And, December 6, a MICA has been assigned its target – indeed virtually destroyed – only with the SPECTRA system

it doesnt say aircraft, as was the claim
what was its target and what targeting information was passed to the missile from what part of spectra ?

    Who is “the french”?

While the information was sketchy at first, it only got confirmed by DSI with further detail. What got confirmed is that a vanilla Rafale can do the job of a dedicated USAF SEAD aircraft.

Lastly, the BVR targetting of Rafales by F22 was done with ALR 94, so no emissions needed. Similarly DSI confirmed that SPECTRA alone can be used to target an aircraft.

    Nic

so an aircraft with SEAD is still SEAD without its SEAD equipment
ok, so that makes sense to you

can you point out where DSI said that SPECTRA alone can be used to target an aircraft
    i cant find that bit

yes you can see through it
to prove your point now all you need to do is google that you could see the fan

better get on google and find a link that you could see the fan and that inlet doesnt prove it
you can show you are right in one post

well going by the posts, if the rafale SM’d the fan it would have been said by now
sit seems the rafale doesnt have a ‘blocker’ and you can see the fan and they claim reduced rcs, what from a barn to a barn door ?
oh wait, is this where spectra comes in ?

no, what we heard in recent years was the rafale would wipe the floor with the f-22 wvr and dogfights
as TMor just indicated with wvr, its an old story
only it would be the mica vs aim 9x and 120 that is also used wvr, you pick the best one for the situation

obligatory, ofcourse when the missile runs out of speed it can be dodged
unless its the mica at 80k so i’m told

gee, so missiles just fluke one now and again, the rafale will be fine because of its agility
the NEZ is a fallacy ?

you need a better argument than that, it was a demo that wasnt chosen, but i cant see the production one seeing the fan anyway
does anyone know about the rafale, i cant see that they would have a look at the fan ?
or this is going to be fun, seeing people defend a visible fan
