cookie, i guess phoon is the only option for the world, if you are right
i wonder why there is a list of countries that have chosen the f-35 and rejected the typhoon
you should send them an email and tell them of their mistake
first rate.. er not really, but nevertheless, it was no “stealth aircraft alone” over baghdad. even the f-117 went covered by F-111 Ravens for jamming.
and yet the schitbox f-35 is replacing the f-117 because they say its better
The Iraq had not first rate SAM-system. It was a mix from technology of the 60s and 70s. The double digit SAMs did enter service in numbers from the 80s, but not so in Iraqi service to justify your claim.
Sens and TooCool, would it kill you to google what you THINK you know, it would save me time correcting you and i didnt say they had the latest, just that it was considered first rate, formidable, very good, better than most and like terms
By 2002 Iraq’s military had modified its once standard Soviet-era air-defense systems with newer equipment from a variety of sources. The result was that Iraq’s air-defense systems were becoming amalgams of Western, old East European, and Far Eastern technologies that behaved in non-standard ways. That made them less predictable for the US and British planes that were their targets and they became increasingly difficult to counter. Assistance from the Chinese had been forthcoming in terms of laying fiber-optic cables between the various air-defense nodes, particularly in southern Iraq.
The Iraqi air defense system was formidable, combining the best features of several systems. The multi-layered, redundant, computer- controlled air defense network around Baghdad was more dense than that surrounding most Eastern European cities during the Cold War, and several orders of magnitude greater than that which had defended Hanoi during the later stages of the Vietnam War. If permitted to function as designed, the air defense array was capable of effective protection of key targets in Iraq.
iraq had a first rate sam system tech of the day including some french kit
how many planes were lost to sams and how long did it take for usa to take the sams out with their ew tech of the day ?
no i wasnt talking about SP, i read here about it in one of the old rafale topics, i was just wondering if they could repost the vids here, i’m old and my memory of then is fading
oh dear….from mp.net
News from Mil.no
An effective defense requires that we have the combat arms, covering the Norwegian needs.
Only F-35 do that, “said the head of the Defense Committee, Jan Petersen when he presented the committee’s recommendation for new combat aircraft to the Parliament today.
Agree on negotiations
Thus, all parties in Parliament, with the exception of Frp, agreed that the procurement work now can move one step forward towards a consultation.
In their recommendation, the defense committee write that the government will come back to Parliament with proposals for a finite number of aircraft and financing of the costs for full negotiations.
Defense Committee said in his message that combat weapon is one of the most flexible military capabilities of these, not least with regard to national sovereignty and crisis management.
Final contracts are signed only in 2014.
i luv looking at vids and hearing how good the rafale is, i remember the last time with rafale and the f-22
the rafale fanboys said that in bvr there might be a competition with the f-22 but they were sure a passive mica ir would beat it
but WVR the rafale would whipe the floor with the f-22 because of the extreme agility of the rafale and had vids of the square dance and such to prove it
can we have a few of those vids of the f-22 showing what a slug it is compared to the rafale posted here as well, they were great
um, the liberal gov chose the f-35
election
the labour gov re-evaluated and also chose the f-35 and as recently as last week said they are still see it as our best option
but heck what would they know compared to fanboys
That passive VLO is limited to the X-band only. Without that the F-35 is dependent on active VLO like all the others. 😉
who told you that ?
and i think you mean active ew, rcs is one of of a group on signature management
so the phoon and s/bugs are better than a f-35, you left out the rafale and gripen, what, dont you like those
heck does it really matter if the article doesnt support his view ?
as for slagging the f-35, if there’s a will there’s a way, even the colour will be wrong
after you back up what you said there with a link, i’d be happy to
Hello Wrightwing :

That was a nice display, but I didn’t see anything that caused disbelief.
welcome to bluewings alternate universe
“”I ‘ll try to be a fair , honest and good poster . I also hope to share a lot “”
you crack me up bluewings, lots of ‘not the above statement’ examples over at SP
“He even quote the Typhoon not being able to reproduce what Rafale does”
i think the rafale would have better low speed agility to the phoon, most carrier planes do, low speed agility is a requirement to land the thing
what surprise me is why rafale didnt go for 2 wing designs, one for land, one for sea, the days of dogfights being the main design factor is over
