Hi matey
I sorted the problem, I found it by chance on the avsim VATSIM website, someone had the same trouble, basically I had to register my Squawkbox with FSUIPC, theres a button at the bottom of the FSUIPC control panel called “Register Applications”, well someone posted the code for this too and voila it worked, like I said above everything was working perfectly apart from the fact that I couldnt see any aircraft or any ATC in the ATC Directory.
Anyway all sorted now, so I should be able to join in with the fly-in 🙂
Ta for the help anyway

Ive flown to Australia 3 times and have always gone BA / Qantas, I like to “look after” our own (if you know what I mean) and have never ever had any problems with them what so ever, your money, your choice 😉

What Moggy says cannot really be added to.
Rotor clouds are dangerous yes but if you are flying the lea side of large hills when there are strong winds about then you should really ask the question as to why you are there in the first place, but absolutely always something you should be thinking about as well.

Read your Met books again, CBs can effect you up to 60nm away, you do not need to be in the vicinity of one of those beasts for it to destroy you.

And as to being disappointed when you end up on the same plane twice…yep I get that too. Was very annoyed when I ended up on Qantas 744 VH-OJB, both ways between Frankfurt and Singapore a few months ago! Wouldn’t have minded if it was still in it’s Wanula dreaming cs….but it had been taken out of them prior to that.
Mate, I was lucky enough to fly on her in Oct 2002, we went to Australia and obviously I knew we were flying Qantas, my jaw dropped when she revealed herself at the gate, wonderful aircraft, the IFE was second to none too in all classes, thank goodness I took loads of photos of her when we landed in Singapore & Sydney
