the one I fly for is one f the best around, Im part of the management team so you would expect a bias opinion here but I can assure you it is unrivalled, we have a fantastic exclusive pilot bidding system that no other airline as got, Im the current AFI with this airline and I must say we are a fantastic group with pilots amongst us who are/were real life captains etc

You can find us here Clicky

Great story Steph, yes it is the relevant place to post, we could all learn something from this i.e. never ever become complacent, fly the planned heading and time, i suppose things could have been worse, could have been a CAS infringement etc.
LOL @ a car and rocks on the rwy, maybe this should have been a bit of a giveaway hehe

Many congratulations Steve, great feeling isnt it, it’s something that you think is just out of reach all the time, and to be told you have passed is just such an amazing experience, now you just have to wait eons for the CAA to issue you with your licence 😉
If your ever in the proximity of Bristol / Gloucestershire / Filton / Kemble give me a shout and we’ll share a coffee or 5 and a salad sandwich.

    Well done again

Mr. Weaver, you are going to end up as a sad statistic with your attitude. Legal does not equal safe.

Not just in Damien’s book, but in mine also, and probably in 99% of anyone with a sensible head on their shoulders, heed the wise words my friend

Shame this share isnt available in the South Gloucestershire area, I would bite your hand off, I have to go to the States in November to hr build towards the mandatory 150hrs you need to start the CPL flying and your share would have been the perfect way.
Never mind, Im sure you will sell it, hang in there 🙂

Have you got the called “The PPL Confuser” ? if not then I seriously consider you getting it, it is invaluable for someone struggling a tad with a few exams.
If you have got it then all I can do is re-itterate what Moggy has said and that is try and take your time, you can take your time and speed through it (I know its a contradiction) but make sure you read, understand and absorb the question being asked, I was lucky enough to pass all my PPL exams first time around and with scores of over 90% but the odd question i did get wrong was because I read it too fast and marked down the wrong answer, then when the examiner went back over the ones i got wrong I knew the answer was not the one I put ( you get the picture).

Anyway, order a copy of the Confuser right away if you havent got it,

    Thanks for this Sandy

Absolutely right about “pay as you fly”, there can be no other way to be honest, I was nearly caught out back in 2001, I was 2 months away from signing up to Pilot Assist College to take me through my commercial licence, the only reason I didnt join them was because I wanted to get my PPL out of the way before I joined them although they insisted I completed it with them, then I tried to contact them to sign up with them and they had gone bust, alot of students were £8,000 in debt before they had even started any training, I was the lucky one, so many people are not so fortunate.
We all have to be made aware of the potential dangers of just this kind of thing from time to time so thank you for sharing

Have fun Moggy, post us a trip report.

    I went up today
Got to Bristol Intl this morning after leaving my village in blue sky, and the cloud was 8/8 and 800ft 🙁 , TAF said BKN 3,000 after 10z so I held out, took off at 11:20 to cloud base of 1,500ft, turned north over Bath, over Yate, and when I reached Stroud the cloud dissipated to leave a beautiful clear day, climbed to FL50 en-route to Evesham via East Cheltenham and it was absolutely stunning, routed south west then to Monmouth and over the Wye Valley to the Severn Bridges and back into Bristol via Portishead, it was so nice I wish I could have stayed up there all day long, but at £115 per hr this wasnt such a good idea lol.
I’ll try and get some piccies posted when my mate emails them to me
