Leave them and co-exist for another 15 years, the thing about hornets is that by their very nature they are not aggresive, unlike the wasp. Even the wasp shouldn’t be agressive so long as you leave them alone. Next time you have a wasp buzz round you if you let them pitch on you they’ll have a “sniff” around and then fly away. They only get aggressive and sting if they are threatened.
VERY well said Kev. Nuff said.

She was also at Filton today, it landed there this afternoon. She went right over the ground where I was playing cricket.
Shots 7,8 & 10 are simply superb (bmi x2 & Easy 319), extremely crisp & clear.

Simply beautiful, I am envious, I’d love to take night shots like that, how did you do it?
Do you mind if I save them to use as desktop backgrounds?

Mate if I’m honest I can’t remember, I’ll get the AOM out and have a look when I get home tomorrow.
Keith, that may be a bit tricky, I haven’t hit the touchdown zone in years 😀
Since we started to fly Exeter – Norwich from April I’ve only ever done it once, I’ll forewarn you when I have it on my roster again, maybe you can forewarn the residents for me 😉
Exciting it certainly is. If you imagine what a shopping trolley or a garden shed landing on a runway would feel like with no wheels along with the associated noises then that’s the best descriptions I can come up with 😀
Unless it’s a wet runway or you “get a good one” then most landings are not good. Very often we get told some passengers scream on touchdown 😀
The problem with it is the landing gear struts, they are very stiff and have no sideways give in them, so if you are not perfectly straight then she’ll “snap” straight should you be on the scew as she grips the tarmac giving a horrible shaking and crunching feeling. Because the Dash is a long aircraft it is very difficult get her straight every time. Also when the runways are wet she generally lands perfectly, this is because if you are on a scew the aircraft will “slide” straight as it touches down so there is no crunch feeling.
Another issue with her is power, those 4.11m diam props give alot of lift over a large portion of the wing, so if you come in right on Vref and then reduce the power she’ll fall out the sky and crunch down.
Great pics Keith, the Saab 2000 is stunning. Sad to see JECV go, no more flying her 🙁 . She lands like a shopping trolley anyway 😀
Well done to us indeed, we deserved it.

No way is that real, you would have to be a complete retard to even attempt something like that. The speed seems improbable too.
