    Thanks

Thanks Papa-Lima, I found that photo but didn’t realise XM601 was on it – I should look properly!!

Now I have no excuse not to build the model – It will just have to be after Iv’ve finished some of my many half-completed ones.

    Thanks again,

    Steve

    Amazing!

Fantastic footage, I never knew any movie film of it had survived.

I have a book on the aircraft, which I have unfortunately misplaced. This has some poor quality shots that I am sure came from movie stills, and these show the bent propeller tips after they contacted the runway. It begs the question, is there more movie film of this aircraft out there?

All this makes me want to refurbish the model I made of this aircraft many years ago.

I have a model of the Ba.422 in 1/72 by RS Models of the Czech Republic. A nice looking resin model, looking at this thread might just have moved it up the build pile!

    They also do a Ba.122 and Ba.222.

For some nice pics of these models built up, follow this link…

    Hi Alex,

I asked the same question (for the same reason) on the Luftwaffe Experten Message Boards (LEMB) in December, as I also purchased a kit of this plane (1/48th Resin). I see you are asking this question on that message board also.

If you search lower down the Projects and Prototypes section of LEMB, you will find my question (I’m firelily on LEMB). I got some interesting replies, but no drawings or photo’s of the interior yet.

The best reference by far is “Kurt Tank’s Photo Album 1940-1943” compiled by Roy Powell & Barry Ketley, Flight Recorder Publications Ltd., England, 2004, ISBN 0-954605-3-1.

I have this book, and it has some lovely close-ups, but only limited views inside through the front canopy.

Good luck with the model, and let me know how you get on with it.

    Steve
