But Hunters are allowed to fly by the CAA anyway. No one has operated any aircraft yet that is not already cleared by the CAA so would they try and block it or have they no say in the matter?
And dont forget the good old CAA!
I saw it there more than once, unless he took it to other shows. I know I definatly saw it 2 years in a row
But surrounding aircraft with steps and viewing platforms invites you to touch them! When I was last there a few months ago a disabled lad was told off for touching the aircraft as he was trying to look into the cockpit, it was either support himself on the airframe or fall in!
I would not wish to see it fly the Atlantic, it is just too precious.
Not that precious really as they are new builds as far as im lead to believe. It would be great to see one over here though and one of the owners has always said that he wanted to bring his Mossie over here. Not sure which one though as i’ve lost track of who owns which one!
Every time there is a defence cut or review this story rears its ugly head, often reported in the Sun newspaper amongst others and all over the internet . I have also seen it reported on the TV a few times as well.
Same crap every year! This story has been rolling on since the 80’s although its gone one better this year as its the second time its done the rounds. It just isnt going to happen, not just because of the public reaction but mainly because they bring in tons of money! They are used oviously for the arms trade but then what about all the merchandising rights, tv programs, dvd’s, watches, toys, clothes the list goes on and on.
I brought up the topic of the R.A.F. vehicle sets being 1:76 and apparently the difference between them and 1:72 is just a few mm and hardly noticable. They have also been produced in 1:72 packaging at times as well
I visited yesturday, great museum but the main halls look tired, numorous display temperarely unavailable signs and being shouted at for touching a airframe. What do they expect with the barriers they have and open cockpits? I was one of many, even saw a disabled lad get told off for leaning inside the open Phantom cockpit, therefore having to touch it! To be honest I think Cosford is a far superier museum and Hendon should look to them for ideas on the way forward.
A Auster was spotted flying along the beach at Hunstanton today (23/08). It was red and white, lovely sight and sound. Any tie up would be welcome.

I think you are forgeting that its a military airshow! Legends is in my mind is the vintage version off RIAT. I admit they often have far more vintage stuff than they had this year but maybe that was due to Legends and the weather on the continent stopped the Swiss Hunter coming.
The cones around the Spatan were far to close…impossible to photograph!
The budget for non military aircraft is not as large as you think and from what I heard the Vulcan team were asking for £77,000! This might not be true though, but I wouldnt be surprised if it was.
There is no way it could be operated privatly over here anyway, the CAA have no love for afterburners!
Its going to be a Spanish Harrier at Farnborough so they should be saying a AV-8 really!
Not really opperating, they go into Fairford about once a month when they exchange the aircraft/pilots. There are 3 in at the moment.

Strange to go through all the hassle with caa and then just sell the Hellcat..maybe its staying in the UK?
