Why is australia as it is now created by the west? Well if it isen’t, then who did it? I have stated it many times before but lets do it one more time…
Australia was first inhabited by imigrants coming from souht-east asia via Indonesia and New Guinea. Those inhabitants were on the move becouse the current predessors of modern chinese where inhabiting their former dwelling lands. Now these became the “aborginals”. Thousend of years went by and that aborginal population recived some input from other micronesian and souht pasific populations but nothing to make any significant changes on the population nor importing any innovations that would led those aborginals to developt out from the developing phase they were…
But then came man savage in the night….White mens, from WEST and they set new order to Australia. Immigrants form all over WEST estabilised a civilisation in which the modern Australian sosiety is based on. It’s as direct continuation from the cultural direction know generaly as western culture (christian-antique) as the ones set to another new continent, America.
Cultures arent just mirrors of the moment, they are results of larger complex, a long term continuty of civilication and society. In terms of current level of Australian culture, it can be descriped as civilication, but the important thing is, that it didnt rose as domestic product. Australian enveriomental conditions werent suitable for rabid evolution from hunter-collector society into modern civilication, perhaps in very, very very long term, aborginalas would have achieved it, but in global timeline, it was just matter of time that some other civilication anxested the continent and its rooting cultures, replacing it by one they brougth along
Modern Australia is based on western culture, it’s so obivios that even me, here thousands of kilometers away can see it. I wont deny that there isen’t any imput form non-western culture, you are good indication of it. But you cannot say that Australian culture is changed dramatically away from it’s western herritage becouse of this. Also i’m not denying that in over these years, australian culture wouldn’t been developing to its own direction. No, as in USA there is certain new and domestical cultural factors, but they haven’t surpassed the comon herritage and same basis that gave birth to it.
You see, we finns are also part of this large family of western culture. We had our own direction but were introduced to the western culture about thousand years ago….and there still is some clear signs of that orginal one…But there isen’t any orginal Australian culture as the culture came alongside the Immigrants, not like in our case were the immigrants brought us their culture and mixed to the orginal population.
But isen’t it nice that we are practically one big happy family 😉

well to me its quite irrelevant to where you live to understand that austrailian culture isent home-made, born by people living from pre-neolethic era to empirialisation totally whitout foreing influences….You in my mind was denying that european immigrants had nothing to do whit the raise of civilisation in austrailia and therefore austrailia is an totally independent cultural enverioment and analogn to Chinese, south american and mediterenian/european cultural hemispheres
or do you need to be an aussie to understand this, or do you have totally different idea of your cultural evolution?? Antropology and ethnologyes are one of my side intrest considering my future career so dont be shy 😉 😉

well i doupt that you like to read my limited explanaition of Finnish grammar here, but take notice that Finnish defference from english as much as chinise does, its part of uralic languages, its most lively representator along whit maygar (hungarian, i believe in english??) language. There’s nothing that commonality that can be find from indo-european languages…

Sure I could have read them between the lines, but there was no gurantee that you had done the same, as mean time you pointed out some petty, nearly-out-of-contest detail whit the same quote.
