According to some Norwegian newspapers, none of the artists ever authorized any publishing of the Muhammed cartoons, and some (or all?) of them demand compensation.

Extremist groups making an effort to show off and ignite more fury don’t surprise me that much, but the fact that numerous Muslim consumers have chosen to boycott parts of Danish industry which have nothing to do with the actual newspaper (Jyllands-Posten), can be interpreted as a sign of unjust mass generalization, and that worries me. Something tells me that some of these reactions may have been fueled by some sort of propaganda intended to increase the collective anger.
It also worries me that otherwise moderate political and religious leaders demand official apologies from Danish and Norwegian authorities, which in fact cannot be held responsible for acts committed by independent media businesses.

My thougths exactly. I beleive in common sense, even in muslim nations, should have it. Like I said before those are just pictures, and despite they would show virgin maria loosing her virginity whit Mohamed, no one shouldnt be getting killed over that. Few black eyes could be comprehensive, but that we see sings of conflict in the air isent good…

There have been predictions of this ‘conflict between civilications’ in the air…I have never beleived them, and I have hoped muslim world to slowly taking similar attitude towards religion than europe has, but now Im not sure any longer…

I hope it’s unnecessary to say this, but please keep in mind that the world is not black and white. In my opinion, the best thing we can do in situations like this is to stay calm and use common sense. Don’t allow some extremists to set the agenda.

Expecially ones here in europe. If some one gets killed after this, its hard to tell what the consuences are…sofar the european leaders have almoust crawled in front of islamists, but will to do so if the flames burst into fire?

Why is there a legislation against imagery that hurts the feelings of all those barely 15 million Jews of the world? Since, when these very papers publish something that offends the 1 billion Muslims of the world, it’s conveniently cited as ‘freedom of expression and that of your press’.
Surely more suitable candidates for such pictures would have been Bin Laden, Abu Musab Zarqawi or Al-Zwahiri instead of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). But if EU countries really want to play into the hands of Islamic extremists well then who are we to stop them

My other dog had to be terminated(bad word but dont know the proper one) this summer after his stomage strangely swolled into huge and he could barely move and eat. No one knew why it happened and what coused it but it was a week of very painfull suffering for him and we decided to let him go…he was 8 years old and was around trough the latter part of my childhood so it was kinda severe blow…
People rarely understand how deeply you can become touched whit your pets inspite Im not any animal lover…in fact i generally dislike them

Media should have some sort of taste and maturiry, as the freedom of speach isen’t mented to allow offense everybody. Its not Medias task to do, but to tell the truth whatever it is or someone wants it to be, but not to deliberatly offend somebody.

I ignored all that you said something that i agreeded also. You see unlike you, i like to always came up whit conclusion over some thread not just argue over arguing sake. So when ever i leave the subject its couse its useless to talk about it, or you have answred my guestions.
