U2 – Wiskey in the jar.
I’ve never heard their version, only Metallicas (which isen’t half as good as the orginal Thin Lizzys one)
but anyway…

That is not an F-7II. It is either a genuine F-113 (MiG-21F-13) or less likely F-7I.
Agreed, the odd windshield/canopie in the picture was replaced (to my knowlidge) from later series of Chinese Fishbeds, like form J-7II….
(got to be the live version of whole lotta though, eh goll?)
well supraisingly, I prefer the album track more…thougth the How The West Was Won version is quite stunning also as is the BBC sessions, but othervise, from the material they have left behind that song seems to suffer from sligth lack of intrest…propaply played bit too many time on the stage…

If so there could be potential usage of these thingyes in the arctic regions
But operating over the ice, Can they land on the ice? or take of from ice/solid ground?
To my understanding there is always considerble risk of engine failure eg other emmercy need for land the WIG thing onto water, but doing this on surface of the ice…it would propaply require more dedicated landing gears…
didnt we have this allready? ANywya, good to recap..

that big lake…well it explains something…
by the way, can they fly atop the ice?
Then there is the problem of rough seas. The ‘rogue wave’ phenomenon is gradually being understood. In any rough sea, you will occasionally get one very much larger wave being formed. Most ships can survive these (albeit with some damage) although they might account for some of the many ships which ‘go missing’. But a WIG flying low enough to benefit from ground effect would just get slapped out of the sky. So, like hydrofoils, they are best used in calm waters, which does rather limit them.
could you (or some other) be bit more spesific over what caliber wave are we talking about, and do these kind of waves generate like lets say in baltic sea? or mediterian? Im not so well awere of hydrologics but isent these waves more of oceanic proplem? Not that i’ve heard/experienced any while sailing away in the baltic. Offcoures WiGs propaply should stay in base in real rough seas, like any other small boats of typical baltic navy, but in normal conditions?
Also, enyone knows where did Soviets tested these things, in Baltic or Black Sea??
Thanks.
