FC1 has been “inspired” by the design that we know. its been discussed years ago in other threads.

Weren’t there also rumours that the Chinese JH-7 had something to do with the Romanian-Yugoslavian Orao? I know these are rumours but weren’t china and romania quite friendly back in the days when these projects started to see the daylight? It makes you wonder and dream :rolleyes:

But these Romanian planes, Pometablava, you said you have some additional info…mind to share more about it? I’m quite interessed of this (and other canceled and prototype projects in general) and exspecially about the twin engined variant shown in this site: http://www.incas.ro/english/index_eng.html (or at least you can go to there form that, just clikc photogalleries and supersonic programe)

Which engines it used (Speys?)? What was its dimensions and weights? Also it’s quite interesting that Romanian neighbour, Yugoslavia had also sigle engined light fighter programe called Novi Avion in development during the late eightyes, so it also makes me wonder, had these projects anything comon? Was the joint producement of Orao the sole program between yugos and romanians?
