It may well be 1st of april in Australia….
Typical cocky US attitude, small nations dont need armed forces….heard it too many times before…:(
Well Why do US need thousands of fighter planes, when there are clearly better ways to spend those money on??;)
well I was born after all my favorite bands had hit the down stream of their career, so I never really got the change to see any of them in their peak…
And I have to agree, that I wont expect that much on the Townsend/Daltrey pacth, after all the thing that made me like the who was the rythm-section of the band….but then again, its better than nothing:rolleyes:
As for Pink Floyd, I think the set-list in Live8 was pretty much drawn due the fact that Roger, despite still touring, hasent got his voice (that I belive never really was his main talent) sounding so that it would justify David to set back…and all the great Waters (Sheep, Pigs ect…) titles were just bit too long to fit in for the 25 min set…
But as for my own taste of the band, as I find myself really a rocker, I tend to find the female-backup singers and saxs somehow flawing the music, so I have drifted to Rogers camp, expecially towards Animals and Wall and the non-shine on songs in the Wish You were Here album, but also for the older and weirder stuff….
I think Syd’s stuf has atleast for my taste aged well (the mixing of my copy of Piper hasent:mad: ) and somehow, as its so tigthly tied to its own era, that I havent experienced myself, it lures me in some od way…

Hi Gollevainen,
I guess the closest gig to you this year would be the Sweden Rock Festival at Solvesborg, 6th June.
As for setlist, well it varies tour to tour, but they cover from The Piper at The Gates Of Dawn through to The Division Bell. There is a possibility that at a few of this years gigs they will play the whole of Wish You Were Here ( 30th anniversary and all that) as the first part of the show.
Last night’s show was 3 hrs long, so a lot of material gets covered.

well As Im allready going to see (the real) Who and Jethro Tull in Helsinki This year (and those events have effectively bankrupted my economy allready:D 😀 ) Guess I need to pass them this time…
But I will be in with the spirit, as the real band tends to be too stubbourn to do anything any more:( 😡

Sadly, it’s the way of these forums over recent years I’ve found. There seems to be two highly polarized blocks of opinion on the forum, and several members in each faction are constantly looking to antagonize the other, and drawing them into yet another flame war. Hence the voice of reason & decent debate is usually drowned out in a cacophony of infantile nationalistic rants, pompous jingoism and in alot of cases, it all spirals further into a fusillade of childish taunts until the moderators feel the need to step in.
well but thougth perhaps not a happy fact, world is that way….we have different obinions and as the overal concept of unbiased truth is a myth, the rivaling frictions will clash, as they always has and always will. I think with all places with considerable freedom of speach, the situation is the same, and certain topics, like the one in question simply cannot be discussed civiliced, by the simple nature of it (unless discussed with people with uniformal way of thinging and same obinions.)
But I agree that there are clearly disquintive blocks in this particlular forum, where as only the one of them usually gets most of the blame (where both troll and flame equally badly) and thus agitates them into even bolder confrontation.
(But thats just my obinion spoken inside of “the block” and shouldn’t be taken anything else than pure propaganda;) 😉 )

So in Britain there isent similar function than here, that during the premilary stage of planning process they held this participation-and evaluation congress together with the people and intrests that the plan is about to affect. So in theory during this stage all sort of trouple spots and reasons of complains are investigated and solved with (at least nominally) co-operation wiht the public?
Anyway, as this cross between my future occupation as civil engineer, Im always eager to know more about toher nations planning and survey systems:)

Well I actually have a paintshop pro 5 (found it hidden in the folderjungle about 2 years after I bought my comp) but sofar I haven’t got familiarized with it. The use of layers is not unknow to me, I’ve played around enough with AutoCads and altough Paintshp seems to have some sort of layersystem I haven’t learned to use it properly yet. Also the Undo command is poor in Paintshop so thus I remain with Paint. My old comp is too full to any additional softwares (exspecially the size of photoshop)….
but never the less here’s my first and crude attempt. Its a some sort of “what-if” strenghtening of 051C Luhai class based on the idea that “what if china would been major shipdevelopter troughout the coldwar?” I’ve made some even cruder predesings of other ships and posted them in SDF…

Thanks for the tips. I’ve done my drawings pretty much with the same general idea tough as I’ve been using only MS paint which has no multible layer ability:mad: I’ve had to draw all to the existing image. Whe trying to make accurate drawings of existing ships, its basicly unpossible but I’ve mainly being drawing “what-ifs” so the 100% detailed unity isen’t required.
Yeas from my part also your work is great!!
I while back I was about to draw my own “fleet” with using normal MS paint but I had some difficulties with the scaling stuff. After I finally worked out good formula for scaling different model pictures, I found out about the shipbucket…:p
Anyway I’m interested of how you draw these images? Are you using a existing linedrawing for base and just overdraw on it or start directly form the scrathc?
Also I would love to see more chinese and russian ships (I’ve actually drawn few rough prototypes from pr. 051B Luhai class with using the shipbucket style…)
