anyway, back to the length of the plane. I did (by suggestion of Crobato in SDF) counting of the length by roughly counting the pixel length of the plane and PL-8 AAM and by knowing the length in meters of that missile, with basic math got a figure of 15.8 meters.

is there any known areal fotos of J-10 (and possiply even some data of the camera and heigth of the plane that took the photo)? My brother who is studying to become a survey engineer once brattled that he propaply knows how to count the length if he would be given the needed info. That way we could make accurate calculations….thougth this beeing an aviation forum, one migth expect to even have members that would be able to do it…:)

well It was my first clance of those, (thougth not first clance of you picketing people over their grammar) so to me it cleared the picture a bit as Im more of Ships/artillery sort of person myself and not that aeronautically orientated…
