In Brazil, we use Python 4 for our Mirages, F-5 and AMXs.
No, A-29, thatΒ΄s the Python 3. π
Hey Thanks IP Freely! π
Tracks can be formed at ranges of between 75 nm and 80 nm (139-148 km).
That looks pretty good, although they don’t mention size or RCS of the target.
Does anyone have any data regarding the Blue Vixen, like range etc? Its dish seems to be very small, when compared with APG-65, 63 etc
Chile, Equador and Peru have border disputes between each other. There are plenty of economically important things in the disputed territories.
There have been some clashes between Chile and Argentina in the 80s, about their extreme south border.
Recently, (landlocked) Bolivia has shown its renewed interest in having a sea route, but didn’t show any sign of being agressive, looking more as a diplomatic maneuver.
Chile doesn’t have borders with Brasil, and there doesn’t seem to be any kind of animosity between the two countries. (Except of course, in that Pre-World Cup game in 1989)… π
And I would say the Chilean Air Force is in very good shape, just like the their economy, the opposite of Argentina.
And FACh, when compared with FAB (Brazil), is smaller but much better fitted to the country size (Chile has an area similar to some Brazilian states).

And now a question about this one. FA2 has 3 underwing pylons on each wing?
I don’t think so. The FA.2 is based on the all-metal GR.3, with two pylons under each wing.
I would say that the second pic is a GR.7 or GR.9 picture. The 7s and 9s are based on the AV-8B Harrier II, with a new wing and 3 hard points under each wing.
Nice! π That one with the Marines was particurlarly interisting.
Oh come on my dear 73 please don’t start another godd#mn flame Indo-Pakistani war here… π‘

I think it was in Iraq, during the latest campaign, early in the war. A PAC-3 obliterated a F-16. I think that’s the incident you are talking about.
Hmm, I would say that it was a Tornado that was shot down by a Patriot, killing both crewmen.
The F-16 incident was the opposite: being tracked by a friendly Patriot radar system, and without knowing it was friendly, the pilot destroyed the battery with a HARM. The system was operating on automatic, IIRC π
Here is the original Rooivalk pic:

December, 2001, South African Sunday Times:
Chinese website rips off Rooivalk
Roger Makings
A Chinese website has published an image of what it says is China’s new attack helicopter but is, in fact, a doctored picture of South Africa’s Rooivalk attack helicopter.
The picture of the Chinese “Z-10 attack helicopter” was published in the authoritative AirForces Monthly magazine but shot down by international experts last month as nothing but a bad fake of the Denel Aviation-built Rooivalk.
The picture shows a reversed version of the original Rooivalk photograph with the tail section of a French-built helicopter grafted on with a suitable “Chinese” background.
They put this one as a “possible” WZ-10 pic, but it’s actually a Rooilvalk one, PSed.
It was published by AFM, but they had to admit it was fake after lots of people sent them the Rooilvalk pic for comparation…

Hey, that Lightning idea isn’t bad at all… But the “most wanted” would be, for me:
– MiG-23
– Tu-22M
But if it was some kind of thing in which shooting is involved, I’d surely stick with F-22 π
Obviously, the powerful “MiG-23” vintage couldn’t be fogotten, specially with the IAF low-viz grey (ok, some of you don’t like low-viz grey, but I must admit I actually love that). π
I find this other pic of the same “MiG-27” vintage Flogger quite awesome too:
OK, at least some of you posted some Floggers and Backfires, to enlighten all of this…
Let’s see what do we have here:
Hmmm, good, a “MiG-27” vintage Flogger:
