What´s the problem with Romania? i didn´t know it had such a bad fame.

I myself have recently spent 3 months in Canada, and I agree with what was said: polite, clean, wealthy, but a bit boring. And I left Toronto during fall, never met the winter…

I was surprised with my own hapiness when I got back to ole Brazil. Next hope is Aussieland.

That’s part of thee self-defense systems of the plane.

My dear Frank, that’s the part I already knew… 🙁 You can surely do better than that… :p 😀

What are those little trapezoid things atached to the air intakes o f the Rafale?

Great pics, guys, the Canberra pics by Stefan are amazing, they transmit a feeling of movement in a astouding way.

Good thread, Cooper! In fact, it’s been a long time since a lot of really good threads kept on popping out.

I’ll choose the F-4M, I like the idea of a afterburning Spey, and the good radar is also important. It’s not an easy decison, because the F-4E has the gun, and the J79 is also a classic. 🙂

There are rumours about a platform derived from Embraer ERJ-170/190, since the 145 seems to be a little small and short-legged for the role.

The 145 was already ousted from the US Army Aerial Common Sensor program due to lack of space and payload, and the 190 is being mentioned as a possible contender to replace it.

I’d say it’s worth it to see it in a theatre – the audio is great. I didn’t realize that the book-martians used foghorn sounds to signal that they found food…. makes the movie’s sounds more scary…

I completely agree. I strongly recomend people NOT to wait to watch it at home.

From a cinematographic POV, the one-shot trialogue when driving the minivan through all the dead traffic was absolutely brilliant. Tom Cruise didn’t suck all that bad, IMHO.

I agree, and I enjoyed the movie. There´s one thing people still didn´t mention: HG Wells was a pretty leftist man, and the whole WotW stuff is interpreted by many as a diatribe against colonialism. Why are they so bad? Why don´t they come here, make contact and become our friends? Ahem, 80% of the aztecas were killed… Connect the dots.

War of the Worlds (the book) at Wikipedia

There´s an interisting section in the Spielberg WotW movie Wikipedia article listing the main differences between the movie and the book.

I believe the plan is to eliminate the fighter component of the CAF once the CF-18 is retired.

    Sauron

Wow, I was very surprised to read that. Canada not only had a long military tradition, but even had a good fighter / military aircraft industry (with several fighters being produced there).

Mirage – faster, better range, more payload. And, as a bonus, it looks way better.

Undoubtly, the Novator KS-172, the extremely long-legged ruskie.
