The tube is pretty thin gauge & the other one ( when I dig it out ) has a slight taper to it ( top to bottom).

When I was 4 my father ( who had left RAF by then & gone back to civilian instructor) made me a ride on loco. the timber was old Horsa glider & the wheels were Blenhieim bomber aileron control line pully wheels.

If you had millions of tons of coal under your country why wouldnt you use it ?? Britain once did exactly the same .The Chinese arn’t stupid & only pay lip service to the worlds Carbon emmission targets .( so do the Americans for that matter)

I was 11 yrs old & remember all the lads at school talking about it…..My Grandson & me have seen the FD 2 at Cosford a couple of times & I told him the story .

I am so pleased that this British!!!!!! hero is still with us.

This makes me so sad , silly girl. I have 2 Daughters & 2 step daughters of my own, they are very precious. A loss to her family & the entertainment world.

Allways had a hankering for a 63 Thunderbird , but at my age , time , money & storage space are slipping away……….
