By the way, the view in the shots is a little deceiving. In front of the wall there’s a slope that drops down to a road, then a big fence, then a slope up to the airfield so you can’t actually just walk in! You do however, get a great clear view of aircraft taxi-ing for takeoff when 14 is in use.

Thanks for that, looking in detail that does look the case, well hidden there and what a convenience, bit like AMS with just the water in the way,

You never know mate we had a kuwaiti a310 in not long ago.
But sheer logic and a brain cell or two dictate it will be the white Jordanian Aviation A310 or the A320
Great shots, loving the new aircraft.
One question, is it really that easy to just walk onto the taxiway there, if so i’m highly surprised with the situation now a days,
Looking forward to yours tom, sure we can’t tempt you to post them anyway PMN?

Brilliant news, glad the B787 has got another boost, i’m not one-sided to A or B but the B787 just appeals to me more,
Any ideas what routes these are likely to be put on, would they likely be used for medium-haul expansion, as most of the Singapore fleet is large long-haul aircraft used for distant Aurstralian, European and American Markets

As reccomended by Deano i’ll put this here:
Thanks for the information, however what can you suggest as concerns the funding, I have no option but to find funding privately should I take it as a career from the beginning of my working life, don’t have a rich family, and obviously have yet to start work, thus meaning I have no cash of my own.
Saddleing me with a £50K debt for the first 15ish years of my life is an option, however would like to know what sponsorship schemes are open, I have yet to find an airline that is continuing its own but would applying on an individual case, organising terms with an airline to provide the funding be a viable option?
Why do people naturally expect BA to have to make a commitment to MAN to use it as a hub, BA is a private airline who operates in the interests of making money – therefore they are likely to drop any unprofitable routes, which is likely to have been the case with these routes from MAN

Happy Birthday, hope your having a smashing day,

I’ll ask Deano to pop across and answer your questions.
Moggy
Cheers Moggy,
I have noticed that some organisations, for instance Cabair, offer full training from scratch up to the required APTL standard that airlines require before they will take you on and provide relevant training specific to the Job, however the costs are in the region of £50,000 – how are people, such as myself, supposed to raise that sort of capital,
Wozza
Hey,
Did some further research into the prospect of this, and have reversed my decision on becoming a commercial pilot, its a prospect of a few I am considering.
Moggy, would you happen to know if that PPL on the website is the CAA PPL or the JAR/CAA PPL – and once this obtained, what is the timescale, costs and steps involved to get up to an ATPL – as most airlines require this before training you up for employment,

EDIT:
– What would ‘CRC Clearance’ and ‘MMR Qualified’ mean?
Pointing Man:You see that, don’t touch that
Thats bad but meh, some of the others submitted are quite good
Sorry mate I don’t think this one is a Hoax, the other resuce was not a hoax ever just a pilot saw a low-flying plane which was taking pictures when pilot looked again he could not see it So he thought it had crashed and called HM Coastgard.
Have to wait and see 🙁
James
So technically, in my eyes, it was a hoax with good intent,

In order to fit into a standard airport gate aircraft are designed to fit into a 90m x 90m square. The A380 would have a much longer wingspan if it was to achieve a higher efficiency but it has to fit into the 90×90 box to be able to be operated from current airports.
Is it not an 80×80 metre box
Referencing wikipedia an announcement has been made today that Cathay Pacific now wholly owns dragonair:
“On 9th June 2006, Cathay Pacific announced to buy out Dragonair in a deal worth HK$8.22 billion in cash and stock. Dragonair will keep its separate brand name for at least 6 years.”

EDIT
Found this on the BBC website with further news on Air China as well, seems Cathay has gone on an offensive of the chinese market: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/5062646.stm
