Brilliant, and sounds like a pretty nice delay, if any delay can be,

Any chance you took some pics?

I have to admit that will NEVER happen. MAN and LPL are really too close for that sort of flights

Did not think of them, really should think before posting – twice in one thread this has happened 😀 :p

I agree that the airport will be limited to niche services, as the link to cardiff is likely to be business traveller based, and with Cardiff there isn’t a huge number of direct services, so a link to London would be useful (but Heathrow/Gatwick the most ideal is unlikely), however perhaps a Amsterdam or Paris connection would be feasible to connect on to KL/AF

    Eastern Airways?

Forgot them, when will the operator be announced?

As an independant observer I reckon this should be good for the local economy, but that under £100 fare sounds ominous to me, would I be right in thinking that this route would come under the PSO proposals for wales, and if so whats the odds that a similar scheme to that up in scotland whereby those who really need the route get 40% payed for them.

The BBC article claims, “an Under 50 Seat Aircraft” – who in the area runs them, only person I know who does round that way is Air Southwest, unless Air Wales were to come back.

I have to agree with the person quoted in the article stating the road link needs updating, but I believe a balance should be struck, you can’t abandon the road – as not every one will be able to afford/want to use the air link so these must be catered for – yet the air route should be provided as well,

Never knew there were so many of you living in the south-east of London area!!! I’m normally over in the commercial.

Nothing has passed over Bexley today unfortunately, most years we see the bulk of the traffic coming in,

I think i’m right in saying a De Havilland Dragon Rapide will be there, and apparently this IS the last Biggin for the forseeable future as the airfiled has lost its license (no firm reference but my Uncle, who is normally hot on these things), whats the odds they do their best to get the license back for next year – usually a huge moneyspinner so they should want it back presto,

Yeah, threatening people is a really grown up way of doing things…

Was rusing to type – had more pressing matters to attend to that appease yourself but my meaning of this statement was to threaten them with legal action, not that much would come of this if the airline is on the verges of bankruptcy which I personally suspect,

    😀

Unlike Emerald who are still operating according to their site AND still with a link to Pax Ops. 😀 And still showing 6 of my pictures they lifted off Airliners! 😡

    Andy

All a.net photos have got copyright marks on them – should you not contact them and threaten them in some way ?

This was from the Chicago Tribune I think i’m right in saying, and as the fools on a.net rightly pointed out from the inevitable useless A vs B bashing this talks about the older A350 and states very little on how the redesign is going and we should wait atleast until Farnborough before passing judgement on how its going.

    Yes it is highly unlikely.

Take for example the bankruptcy of Swissair or SABENA or Dornier. Their assets where sold of not too long ago, since bankruptcy procedures take time.

There where catalogies available with stuff on offer. A large majority was filled with office equipment ranging from pens to computer to desktop models of planes (complete with desks ;)). The rest was filled with tools, older cars, tugs, cutlery, safety cards etc. Small(ish) stuff.

Thanks for that – do you recall how much the tug went for – would make a good collectors item!

a few years ago, i was talking to somebody that owned a haulage company…due to various circumstances (the company he did 90% of his business with went bankrupt) his business went bankrupt….The administraitors called in sold his fleet of lorrys and he said the prices were stupid, for the price of a new lorry and trailor, you could of bought 3 of his trucks that the administraitors sold…

My friend’s uncle owns a plastic injection moulding company and in the companies early days managed to acquire £16,000 worth of equipment for £1250,

Tenthije are we therefore concluding that it is unlikely if not impossible that aircraft could be acquired on the cheap from an airline going bankrupt?

Sorry, wozza, perhaps I wasn’t clear enough. I was responding to tomfellows’ post where Heathrow would remain in place.

Even so, from an ATC point of view, the best place for a Heathrow Mk.II would be Brize or Fairford. :diablo:

No problem, It appears I overlooked tomfellows post,

It would be rediculous to segregate airports for different traffic types – even more passengers would be lost to KLM/Schipol and AF/Paris due to better connections.

I agree LHR and LGW should be both closed and a ‘super’ airport built, where? why not the proposed LHR Mk. II in the thames estuary, more than enough space – my only concern would be the impact on the local environment.
