You must understand where he is coming from. There is nothing, but nothing you say or do that will help matters. Besides you would be a “fanboy” if you did.

Let him wallow in his own mire. He knows the truth.

Thank Goodness they have not bought a new JetSki for their “Navy” or he would be turning up like a bad coin in the Navy Sub-Forum also.

Since there is nothing, absolutely nothing homegrown that he can talk about, why not try to say ” I know I suck, but you suck more”. That is the philosophy. Meabwhile, the rest of the world watches in horror/amazement as endless flamewars continue.

Yahoo25, take a look at this thread – Interview with director general of RSK-MiG by PiBu

It is more recent than the article which you posted.

You are wasting your time man.

    The Anglo-French Love Story Continues:

Why, one asks, does the House of Orange, or H.R.H, the King, who
wields the *Excalibur*, use it so selectively?

    😀

Are not these cuts being made to free up resources to purchase better communications equipment?

Given that the type 42 are all twenty years old, that’s not so much a cut as a retirement. 10,000 ‘lost’ posts are civilian.

In short this is for a more mobile, quick-reaction British force (to get to “hot-spots” in 24 hrs.); keeping with the general trend of better C4ISR between the American and BCA militaries.

PS: The Jaguar – Old Aircraft and was going to be replaced by Typhoon anyway.

So, depending on one’s point of view this is either bad news or good news; I lean towards the latter. The British Press are spinning this as a “doom and Gloom” scenario needlessly.

Yeah, but none of them is a serious candidate for having the No. 1 AF in Europe…

All righty then, The UK are #1.

    God Save the Queen.

    Good Night.

I think this is turning into an Anglo-French Flame war. It doesn’t have to be one if people argue based on hard facts rather than on emotion. There are other countries in Europe, believe it or not. Holland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece etc.

    Moderators?

What makes you think that the RNoAF is equally as good as the air forces of these nations? We only have approximately 57 operational F-16AMs with a limited SEAD capability, our airborne EW/ELINT capabilities are rather limited, we currently have no tankers etc.

I like to apply the Chinese concept of CNP (Comprehensive National Power) in assessing Nations. Although this is at best, a silly ‘ranking’ Norway has the backbone to support it’s air force(Only Saudi Arabia and Russia export more oil than Norway), Ukraine may not (even though it is larger and more capable). So it is sort of an equalizer. I may still be wrong; it’s only an individual opinion.

I am hardly a Francophile, but France is the only European Power with an independent Nuclear Deterrent. UK do need permission to launch their nukes (unless I am wrong). Making fun of the French is very entertaining and all that, but they are leading “European” Power, we may like it or we may not.

Interestingly enough, the UK do not consider themselves to be part of “Europe” unless a ranking game is being played.

Again this ranking is almost silly because of Non-inclusion of Russia and some would say, Turkey (Nato Member).

#1 France/UK (it’s a tough call really – France has a little edge, me thinks)
    #2 Germany
    #3 Italy
    #4 Sweden
    #5 Norway / Holland / Ukraine/ Greece

PS: Turks would figure on the list had they been “European”, but considering the Russians are being Ostracized, I left the Turks out.

I seriously hope you meant that in Jest.

In any case My ‘plea’ seems to have fallen on deaf ears as 3 of Xanadu’s posts are still alive and kicking.

I have a request for Xanadu and others:

This being an international forum, it’s a little hard to digest that there are 6 threads (almost 25%) related to India. We don’t need more than 2 (if pictures is to be a seperate thread).

Why for example, has xanadu started three threads titled:
    1) Indian Big Ticket Defence Purchases.
    2) Mig29-k
    3) IAF Questions

when all topics can reasonably be covered in one thread?

Please Get a grip. Thread proliferation is not the way to get your point across.

    @TTP:

I think you are misconstruing what some people are trying to say about US Pilots. They are second to none. That is obvious. The fact that they so overwhelmingly dominate all other opposition is being credited to force multipliers, while at the same time, taking away nothing away from their obvious skills.

What is further being said, and is hypothetical, and not realistic, is that is some of these ‘advantages’ were taken away from US pilots (the wisdom of this statement is questionable, as it is unrealistic), then pilots from other countries would not seem all that inferior.

    @ Flex:

One thinks you are being too kind in including PRC posters to the ‘normal’ category. However, it is your definition and you have a right to an opinion, like anyone else.

This man’s Insidious Propoganda is too much to bear even for the passive members.

For a nation that has *never* participated in exercises with anyone, he has a lot to say on their ‘real’ meaning.

He had best stick to J-10 etc. threads where he and his flunkies from a certain nation can revel in their own mirth and discuss future acquisitions that may or may not happen.

TTP, Flex is Slovakian. He may as well be ZAMBIAN, for what he says is true. Though I would not use the word ‘coward’.

Seriously, this whole God Dam*ned Thread is a waste of Cyber Space, from any Indian Members’ perspective. I don’t even know why they have to participate.

    Fun?

If Gripens are sold, they are sold. We’ll talk about it when the sale materializes.

    Just one thing, though:

That’s always been Pakistan’s strategy, just to make any attack as costly as possible for India

I hope you did not type that lie with a straight face. Even on an Internet forum, where nothing really matters, a little candor should be maintained. For the record, Pakistan has initiated all 4 hostilities with India.
