Zarqawi might have been beaten to death

What do you guys think now?

Why do you think that statement is true? The Observer is one of the most Anti war papers in the UK, hence the reason I stopped buying it (same for the Guardian, I got fed up with the Left wing crap being put out by them which is just as bad as the Murdoc/Daily Mail rubbish). There have been a number of Civil court cases / Court marshals against British Soldiers for offences in Iraq over the last few years and the majority have been thrown out because of one reason. That reason being the majority of the Iraq population being unable to tell the truth in respect to the conduct of US/British soldiers actions. Its one of the reasons that led to the Invasion in the first place. That being that Iraq was unwilling to acount for a large amount of BW/CW/Nuclear material that UNSCOM knew was inside Iraq. The Reason that UNSCOM knew was because they had the sales receipts and shipping manifests from the companies in the US/Britain/France/Russia and Germany plus a whole load of other countries that had sold the stuff to Saddam. The only reason that UNSCOM got their hands on half of the stuff in the end was because Iraqi defectors told them the location of the stuff and the Iraqi’s had to hand it over (with the threat of massive US/British air attack sanctioned by the UN if they didn’t). This of course fell apart when the French, Russians and China started to undermine UNSCOM just to try and make quick bucks out of Saddam’s promises of trade when the sanctions were lifted. The real reason we have got to this state in the first place however was because IRAQ invaded KUWAIT!!! and after they were handed their ass on a plate in 1991 didn’t do the smart thing and get rid of the cause of the problem, namely Saddam and his regime, something that should have been done in 1991. OK the problems would have been exactly the same (namely Bin Laden was up and active), however the people of the West would have remembered the reason for us going in (remember they only a few any US or UK servicemen in the gulf in July 1990).

    True BIGVERN!

But we all know that if you could strap a seat to a certain ramjet powered service to air missile that is what you would really want :diablo:

Not really mate, Latral G forces on lift off are a bit crushing to put it mildly. 😮 Other than that why not buy Hawks, Most air forces are doing it at the minute, which must be more that just BAe skill at bribing. :diablo: Anyway, Having flown in one, I do have a first hand option on the kite. Also you can get the Hawk as an effective light attack aircraft or as a single seater with an effective radar and missile fit, just what a small air force really needs and they can get it RIGHT NOW!!! 🙂

Hurricane would go with Typhoon as well….

RAF still has Hurricanes, and Spitfires hence both of them are out for a start.

LIGHTNING II or KESTRAL II !!!!

Quality. I think that the pilot getting out of the Jag at 03:38 is Mike Rondot (the aviation artist) 😀 😀 😀

An interesting artical, that does get most of the facts right (one thing I did note however is the PRF figure quoted, I thing the guy means 100 Hz, not 100 kHz. A PRF of around 100 Khz will give you a max range measured in feet!!!)

MTBF would most likey be better, however what changes would you have to make to adjust for the different mass airflow and other intake changes. (not counting system changes on pipes and wiring location.

that assault rifle was an American M-249 Squad Automatic Weapon produced by Fabrique Nationale, and having fired it more times than i can count i am not surprised it jammed on him, it’s a piece of shίt

Can not be as bad as the M60???

    … WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW..

However I think the wildlife in the southern English channel (plus the owners of the beaches) would have rather had the ship miss the rocks that it hit in the first place and had it successfully dock at Millford Haven. :diablo: :diablo: :diablo:

That’s the purpose of an LPI radar…you can use the radar but an enemy’s RWR doesn’t go off until you’re a lot closer or go fully active.

Here’s a simple question. Does anybody here know how LPI is rumoured to avoid detection by an RWR? I’m asking to comfirm if my understanding of its workings is correct

that is one thing i would have loved to have witnessed… Sea Vixens, Buccaneers and Hunters….. WOOOOOOW. 🙂

    Actual breakdown of the attack:-

    28 March 1967

8 Buccs of 736 and 800 NAS – 42 1000 lbs Bombs (about 30 hit the ship). Followed by an unknown number of 229 OCU Hunters with 100 gallon drop tanks filled with Napalm.

    29 Mach 1967

Ships still afloat and not much sign of visible damage.

8 Hunters from West Raynham and 26 Hunters from 229 OCU attacked with Napalm and 3 inch rockets, followed by 8 Buccs from 736 NAS, again with 1000 pounders. The 8 Buccs then rearmed and attacked the ship again, followed by 4 Sea Vixens with Napalm.

    30 March 1967

Ships still afloat and still not much sign of visible damage.

Attacks by 6 Sea Vixens with 1000 pounders, 8 Buccs again with 1000 pounders, another 3 Sea Vixens again with 1000 pounders, 30 RAF Hunters with Kerosene filled drop tanks and a futher 6 RAF Hunters with petrol filled incendiaries and 3 inch rockets.

Wreck then barely visible and oil escaping to the wreck almost ceased.

    Total amount of weapons employed:-

    165 1000 pound HE bombs
30,000 gallons of Napalm (300 drop tanks)
10,000 gallons of Avtur (100 drop tanks)
unknown number of rockets and petrol bombs.

It is a good thing that he is gone, however i doubt situation in Iraq will change anytime soon.

True, However waiting to hit the guy with a group of his underlings around him was a class move, most likely took out the guy who would have replaced him in the short term at least. 🙂
