But how on earth can the israelis start a war with Iran?
I can only see a pre-emptive strike on nuclear facilities much like Op.Opera back in 81(82?).
How could they stage something close to a aerial campaign other than a couple of missions, if they have to cross Jordanian and/or irakian, lebanese, syrian, saudi, turkish airspace to get to Iran?!?
Despite US influence in Jordan and (now) Irak, i don’t believe these countries will ever open their airspace (today nor in near future) to israeli aircraft attacking Iran…

NH90 cabin floor
About the NH90 floor weakness, i believe this is also the case with the EH101. I remember a brief talking i had with a FAP Merlin pilot back in 2006 about the subject and he confirmed the Merlin’s floor can’t stand much weight concentrated in a small space. That’s why they have signs forbidding women in high heels entering Merlins open to public during events:

thats two different birds… i can’t read OG Brasilian.. can you explain how the A-7P is supposed to fill the role intended for the F-5E.. or if the mission was even thought of to begin with?
FAP wanted F-5Es to replace F-86s in the air defence role. It even got 6 T-38 Talons in 1977 leased from USAF as trainers for the Tiger IIs. But NATO thought at the time that an aircraft capable of performing long range TASMO missions in the Atlantic area was more suited to its needs. As we coulnd’t aford our own choice, FAP was pushed to accept a batch of 20 SLUFs in 1981 instead.
By the way, you can’t read brazilian in the same way you can’t read american, canadian, australian, peruvian, chilean, etc etc etc

five F-18 Hornet jet fighters belonging to the US Navy, which had earlier been found maneuvering above Bawean Island, Central Java Province, for more than two hours
were close to firing at each other as the F-18 fighters went into attack mode and had their missiles locked on Indonesia’s planes
When did the USN start practising combat maneuvers with live missiles on?!?:D

That’s Angolan Su-27UB behind that Fitter, right? Are those being upgraded at Bydgoszcz, as well? 😮
I believe that image was taken in-country, in Angola. I just didn’t find out yet which hangar is that (from GE images).
The hangar used for the Fitter upgrade is most probably the same where (foreign) maintenance is usually carried on the Flanker fleet.

p_shadow , I personally would welcome if you managed to solve these issues using a PM instead derailing this thread. In case you feel flightman has done wrong, feel free to contact him privately or report his behavior to mods but don’t bother me and others here with your personal problems because nobody is interested in solving them for you. Thanks for understanding.
BTW, your Angolan pic is a treasure, no doubt about that.
This is by far the best topic in one of the best sites in the whole world wide web.
I also believe (perhaps naively) that making this complaints “in public” will touch others and make them realize how wrong (and pointless!) their attitude is.
These aren’t my photos, but from people that entrusted them to me. As such, i owe them respect for their work (and risk!). Sharing is a wonderful thing, and every effort to preserve it is always welcome, in my opinion.
But flex, you’re right too! These are certainly not the best posts in town, and surely ones that no one likes to read in a topic. So…. back to the photos!

Copyright violation!
3 Pics of Angolan Su-22.
Original picture:
This is the reason why we’re not seeing many more photos coming to this topic!
I just can’t understand why people continue to stupidly violate photo copyrights.
And flightman, let me guess: you’re not the one who made this, and you don’t either remember the site where you took this photo from, right?
This is a real shame…!
😡
Hi Mick, not known yet what kind of upgrade will be, if there will be any at all. This issue is still in a preliminary phase.
I forgot to mention in my last post, regarding possible replacements or upgrades to FAP’s C-130H fleet the air force is awaiting the delivery and implantation of the C-295 in service, study it’s impact on the AF capabilities and only then decide on it’s future needs in medium/heavy transport.

There were also concerns within the air force about the (low) number of A400M involved in the deal. However, and most importantly, it must be recognised that the pull out of this program was mainly due to political decisions.
The C-130J was an option in it’s time, is still being considered as a future replacement but for now, an upgrade to the existing H-fleet is on the table.

Just can’t understand your attitude towards fellow Iraqi Pilot. Has he done something wrong in this forum?!
Unbelievable how people gives so much attention to who someone says it is or isn’t. Why don’t you people just take his (very nice) photos and give him a rest?;)

The intention is to develop and eventualy build a transport plane smaller than the C-130 but with 25-30 ton capacity and max speed around 800 Km/h.

Now a little bit off-topic.
There are strong indications leading to the RAF being the potential recipient of our soon-to-be-retired Puma fleet, expected to involve 8 aircraft.Abraços

SOURCE:Flight InternationalUK nears a decision on interim helicopter deal
By Craig HoyleThe UK Ministry of Defence could be just weeks from determining how to best fill the critical shortfall in its battlefield helicopter capability, with life extension, lease, new-build and secondhand acquisition options still under consideration. Flight International has meanwhile learned of a Eurocopter proposal to supply the UK with eight ex-Portuguese Air Force SA-330 Puma transports. The offer emerged following Lisbon’s rejection of a request to sell several of its new AgustaWestland EH101s to bolster the Royal Air Force’s EH101 Merlin HC3 fleet.
An industry source close to the Eurocopter proposal says the second-hand aircraft would be “ideally suited for the hot-and-high demands of Afghanistan”, and represent “an appealing package operationally”. Portugal’s SA-330s were delivered between 1969 and 1974, according to Flight’s MiliCAS database, and have Turbomeca Makila engines more powerful than the Turmo systems used by the RAF’s current Puma HC1s.
Eurocopter approached the MoD last October to offer the aircraft under a 10-year deal, to also include the provision of spares and a comprehensive logistics support package in conjunction with FR Aviation/Bristow Helicopters joint venture FB Heliservices. This would be in addition to a five-year contract worth up to £100 million ($197 million) to support the UK’s current Puma and Eurocopter Gazelle fleets
Eurocopter in mid-January submitted its final response for the latter requirement, with a contract award expected around June. MoD personnel are meanwhile understood to have flown to Portugal to inspect the secondhand Pumas, which an industry source says could be modified and delivered to the RAF within 12 months of contract signature. The UK has previously acquired several second-hand Pumas from South Africa to boost its operational inventory of the type, which is currently in use in southern Iraq.
Other solutions being considered by the MoD include purchasing EH101 tactical transports from Denmark returning stored Westland Sea Kings to service and accelerating the acquisition of new medium-lift aircraft. Funding a “fix-to-field” package to bring the RAF’s non-operational Boeing CH-47 Chinook HC3s into service, and a potential 10-year commercial lease deal are also options. An MoD source confirms that a decision on a possible interim helicopter deal could be made within the coming weeks, but declines to provide further details.
