Thanks for your reply Jason. I’m sure that a couple of years ago I saw some new made cast ones for sale, the same as in the photo. I’m blowed if I can remember where I saw them. I didn’t need them at the time but I wish I had bought a couple of them now!
Regards
Ken
Thanks guys for your replies. The only ones I’ve seen on e-bay and other sellers sites are the, what I call, “chunky” brackets. The ones I am after are the slimmer type as my poor photo. Does anyone know who casts this type?

Cheers Tony.
I think I would prefer cast ones. Hopefully, some of the various people will give me a shout! If not then I will get in touch with Ross.
Thank you Bruce.
It’s the brackets that bolt to the instrument panel. It looks like 4 bolts to the panel and 2 at the bottom that attach them to the top of frame 8 ? Hope this helps.
Peter. If there are parts that are seized up and it would seem that there could be, It would be best not to power it up. The motor turns a friction drive and powering it up could seriously damage this and you wouldn’t want that! The only thing I can suggest is that you strip it down and free up the parts that should be moving with penetrating oil. Be careful not to get any oil on the two timing cogs as these are friction driven and need to be clean but free from oil. l don’t know how much help this info is to you but by stripping it down will give you a good insight into how it all works!! I will just say that if you let the on / off switch soak from the top with penetrating oil you should be able (with luck) and the help of a couple of small levers, raise the knob enough to clear the block with the locating pin in it and then be able to remove the block. You should then be able (with a bit more luck) to push the knob down enough to remove the small collet and then remove the knob. You should then be able to sort out the problem with the switch. I would suggest that this be the first thing you need to do.
Good luck!
Hi Peter.
If you cannot pull out the on off knob and turn it to the on position then you can not power the unit up..The two pin plug on the side of the unit is only for a extension red light for the pilot so he knows that a photo is about to be taken. The top timer dial can be quite stiff to turn as there is a compression / friction washer underneath to stop any vibration turning it.
With the on / off switch I would suggest that you remove the switch to investigate further. You do this by removing the 3 screws marked “B” can be a bit of a fiddle! The only reason the knob is spring loaded is so it can lock in the on or off position. There is a little block under the knob held by a screw. This block has a small pin in it that locates in holes in the bottom of knob so don’t try turning it without raising it first. I suspect that rust may be involved.
Hope this helps.

Hi Ross. I was able to measure up a original that was as per drawing 30033/sht 3H. I think the one in your photo is from a later Mk. The drawing says square thread or acme. I measured it to be 5 tpi so I made mine 5 tpi acme. Seems to work just fine for me. I’m sure someone who knows a lot more than me will come along with a proper drawing!

Unbelievable how long not having these anchor nuts has held me up but thanks to “radarsdesk” no longer.
Can’t thank Dave enough. Cheers, I do have a glass to hand..

Dave. PM sent. Thank you so very much.
Hi.
I’m looking for 4 no. 4BA anchor nuts, single lug with the single fixing hole. I’m thinking that they might be Simmons type but not sure. If anyone has 4 they would sell me I would be grateful.
Many thanks
