    Mackerel.

Thank you for your input Steve. I’m going to sleep tonight with the drawing under my pillow! Maybe then everything will become clear…

Thanks very much for your response but I’m afraid I still don’t see it!! The only thing that I can think is that the adjustable tube that the rudder pedal is bolted to must have a internal part that has a square centre hole and slides back and forth along the squared tube as the adjuster is turned. It’s the only thing I can think of that would keep the pedals upright and stop them flopping about side to side but I just can’t see anything on the drawings that would suggest that this is so. I have looked at this soooooo many times my eyes have gone square!!!

Not very good pics but you asked! I’ll try and do better later!!!!!
It’s just a wooden infill for frame 8 because it’s easier to work on like that..
Now let’s see if I can attach the pics. They were the right way up when took em!!!

    Hi Tony
After Shoreham on the Sunday, I visited the B D M. I did look for your hurricane and spitfire cockpits but I guess you are working on them elsewhere. I enjoyed my visit very much. The open cockpit exhibits are really impressive as is everything else on display.
Unfortunately, I had to refrain from climbing into any of the cockpits for fear of not being able to remove myself!! I don’t bend as easy as I used to..
Good luck with all your future plans at the BDM.

    This do?
Can add measurements if you want..

That is exactly what I want. If you could give me the measurement between centerline of shaft and centerline of post then I would know exactly where to fit post.
    Thank you so much.

    Chumpy.
Thanks very much for that. I have looked for 1 5/16″ tube on internet but can’t find anyone who sells that diameter. It would have to be about a 1/32″ wall thickness if a 1 1/4″ tube has to pass through it. Any idea who could supply such tube?

    Bruce.
I have a GA drawing but it doesn’t give the tube diameter. If I can find the diam. of the one that passes through the bearing then, with a bit of luck, I can work out the other sizes.

Hi Mike. I don’t have a camera but I do have the Newnes Practical Mechanics July 1941 issue that deals with the workings of this camera. I could loan it to you if it would be of any interest!

    Regards
