It just read it in the famous AFM mag… It was about the the Pakistani production facilities… You can find the exact words… It does hurt uh?
Uh?? Hurt whom? What are you attempting to say?
So are you implying that rubber tanks = gold price wise?
Well, more effort in radar devpt is always a good thing. You never know when you might need it.
But heres a thought- can the NO11M and Zhuk MSF transition to AESA’s ultimately? The RBE2 and CAptor claim to be able to do the same with AMSAR.
Will the AMSAR feature LPI? LPI imho is best only for true stealthy fighters which can sneek in and launch missiles w/o opponents knowledge. True LPI features would sacrifice range and w/o 24/7 AWACs’ support such fighters would be disadvantaged.
Indian1973, I have read a report of Pakistani that they were not happy with the spare part costs. As example they said that the price of the rubber tank inside the Mirage was equal to the price of the gold (equal weight). Sounds tough to me. Cheers.
This is exaggeration by far. Yes, rubber items are pretty hard to indigenize, but more often than not its not the cost issue but tech ones. It may seem funny but rubber items are a pain even when compared to avionics. But the price thing is defintely “far out”.
MA,
Welcome back. The report seems generic though- does it provide an actual percentage of parts and the breakup by type?
I wonder whether the PAF can undertake life extension studies and enhance the life of their Mirage fleet. Some of them are pretty long in the tooth..
Yup. But its an exception among US radars rather than the rule.
Interestingly the Captor is a bit of an enigma. Can track 24 targets but engagement remains a mystery.
Garry, thanks.
So the PAF does not have the resources to make its own spares. In the long run this will really impact them.
Maybe they should opt for tot?
Most of our deals with Israel include that anyway…
Yup- they all seem to have run into the same wall. RDY2, RBE2 and even the NO11M.
4 targets onlee.
if I remember right, you were also a proponent of the Mirage over the Mig-29 for the IAF’s latest fighter purchase.
The Mirage has better avionics. Would count in BVR.
So Karna, is that the stuff people talk in your country? Sounds like a bunch of dumbass losers.
North?South?Bengal?Punjab? You all look the same to me! 😀
Sure, we’re all the same. Especially when we’re kickin’ the crap outta yer beloved martial nation. Done it four times now, still ye guys dont understand.
Ho hum, nice way to get rid of yer excess population I guess.
And nice try nicking the original Indian Sabre Ace’s id. Another thing which ye guys excel at- mimicry. Yaawn.
Ja,
Are the problems fixed or is it still wonky business?
look i am seriously not interested in this. it is only going to lead to a flame and we are highjacking this thread. PM me if you like. i can reply over there.
this is my last reply on this topic in this thread. i will PM you my reply.
Fine by me. Ceasefire. Alls well that ends well. 🙂
an active forum. if anyone has a problem with this forum they can leave. it may not be as civilised but there never a dull moment over here.
Yeah and I can see why. Non stop flaming is “never a dull moment”? Wow. 😀
Kid? Rotflmao. Compared to you I am ancient. Get off your high horse and learn to converse properly.
again you are using your logic. i aksed how does that make you more capable? larger fighters also tend to be the less manouverable types. more space to carry avionics and sensors does not mean the avionics and sensors are better. larger sensors also require a greater cooling mechanism and maintaiance costs
Yawn. So this is why you dont post on Acig eh? Cant back up any of your asinine posts.
Larger fighters less maneuverable…eh heres a clue. Most large fighters of comparable vintage can engage and disengage from a scrap at will.
They bring more energy to a fight.
And the MKI has super man. fyi.
And your larger cooling sensors, maintenance costs etc blah blah…very nice but relevance pray? When comparing x vs y of the type that you revel in- what counts is raw performance. A 1 M approx aperture radiating array will beat the scrap out of a half sized array squeezed into one of your light fighters.
which fighter pilot? an F15 fighter pilot? sure. you want to beleive an F15A is supirior to an F16 blk 52 go ahead. i aint debating this one with you
Wow. And we are to fall prey to your imbecilic strawman? LOL.
Who brought up this idiotic F15A vs F16Blk 52?
Why not compare a/c of a similar vintage….but hey that would just rip your own strawman to shreds huh?
lugging more electronics dosent make those electronics suprior. in case you didnt realize the F22 is smaller than the MKI. go figure kid. furthuremore it dosent have to mean that you even have the technology for some of the avionics that go into western fighters. when you talk about netcentric capabilities you take into account external assets. it hardly does any good to mount sensors on the MKI and then not have anything to link them with. thats why you need the infrastructure in place. what makes you think russian RWRs are more advanced than western ones? systems like SPO15 or SPO32 are nowhere near wesnter systems like ALR69. even though flankers are far bigger tan F16s and 18s.
So? Are you argueing that less space is preferable? ROTFLMAO. What “logic”.
And why pray are you bringing more strawmen into the discussion- Russian systems blah blah blah. The MKI does not use any of your claims nor does the Gripen.
Why not compare the F15 to a F16? Are the avionics in a F16 more compact and automatically superior to the F15’s? Wow.
it dosent do anything for them the FC1 wont do. they need a BVR platform with a reasonable level fo technology. buying the gripen alone does absolutely nothing. buying the gripen with AEW/C and yes that would allow a quantum jump in PAF capabilities. 60 gripens alone simply means that they can replace old airguards from their inventory. and it only means that IAF will have to spend a few extra missiles on 60 odd jets. without AEW support a gripen is just as blind running into flankers as an FC1
Heres a hint….why is Mushy talking about Gripens as well?
NOt that they’ll get them for sure but still.
i understand this far better than you do. which is why i say gripen dosent do much for PAF on its own. they dont have AEW/C capability and they do not have the support EW gear and assets. ad to that things like AAR and yes gripen really ends up being a small ranged fighter for the PAF.
Yawn. So you are basically admitting that the Gripen as a unit is limited and cant compete with a MKI.
yeah sure………..
so why does IAF need AAR again? when you have bases on both sides that are 15 min away from the border it hardly makes any difference.
To hit China, JFYI.
you see they already have a light fighter called FC1 coming into PAF.
And its obviously not enough.
